I have a strange question, i'm doubtful someone has the answer to this. Currently, I have to use a proxy when I am VPN'ed in. So in firefox, when I vpn in, I can access the web just great. Then, i disconnect from VPN and I have to close and reopen firefox before I can get out to the internet again. I don't know whether my proxy or dns is being cached, but I wish I could clear it without having to restart firefox.

Alternatively, is there a way to restart firefox and reopen my tabs?

I see there is an option to have firefox save your tabs every time.....I guess that would work, but its not really what I want.

Since your vpn'ing, your firefox is going across the vpn? If thats the case once you disconnect its going to be a dumb client since is going to looking for the encrypted data streams. Try opening firefoxand use it before connecting to your vpn, you might beable to setup to force it out your own connecting too.

ipconfig /flushdns

That doesn't work on the browser.

If you close the browser or open a new one, it's fixed.

When I close FireFox it asks me if I want to save tabs and there is an option to save my preference. Maybe you turned that off at some point? Or maybe you are still using version 2?

--edit - here are some ways that should work in version 2 - Saving tabs on exit
