My work computer (Dell Latitude D620) has a widescreen with native resolution of 1280 x 800. I have the computer set to enter standby when I close the lid. For some reason unknown to me, whenever I open the lid and resume from standby, the resolution is set to 1280 x 768 instead of the native resolution.

I can't find any information related to this problem through a Google search or in Dell's forums. I have the latest video drivers installed.

Any idea as to why this happens and how I can prevent it?

Is it independent of the applications you have open? I only experience similar problems when some old children's games are running.

I haven't installed any new software so something isn't making sense...
Can you adjust power settings? Maybe try having the lid close go to hibernate instead of standby?I guess I can give that a try - I never use hibernate but I'll see if the problem happens when I do...
