Why would I want an airline flight for 100+ people? IMO, I would've preferred that huge package broken into a couple smaller prizes, like more free cars or tvs!

Actually it was better the first year when you could stack four per account and get a $600 discount.

I think Chariot meant the Amazon Christmas promo, not the Amazon WCs. Amazon was great. Many of us loaded up on free stuff, like a bike, a huge tent, cordless drill, and an elliptical machine. Won't be as sweet this year if there are no WCs. They also had drawings for Wii and PS3s for full price, I scored one of each.

LOL. I loaded up too
Bike - Finally put it together 2 months ago and used it 3 times.
Tent - Used once.
Elliptical Machine - Still in box

Hi all!!

In the last one prepaid cards could not participate. I think that's another thing they "fixed" after reading about it on these forums.

I'm still pretty sure us FWers and SDers alike will take the lion's share home because we're so darn persistent folk, not hackers.

So we can't be both?

Why do manually what you can automate I say. More fun than just clicking away like a monkey (no offense to our simian friends).

i've heard a few people say they have been banned from participating in the wishlist. this is my first year with an AMEX, so im new to this.
why do people get banned?
also, does every AMEX holder get to play, or is it an invite only thing?
thanks in advance!

Hey Wishlisters! Glad to see everyone back again. Hopefully we can get some great stuff that we 'have to have' this round!

The promotion is open to valid US AMEX cardholders in goooood standing...

Top resons for banning include flooding the AMEX servers with requests when trying for a product, 'flooding' now defined as anything greater than using more than one browser window to click/request, and not using a 'valid' cardnumber (parameters undefined)

Has anyone become an insider? I'm in!

It's true, I've been banned every year so far.

Got into that too, very depressing what level of people are in there. If AMEX listens to that crowd this promo will be ruined in no time. Between the people complaining that they aren't online during the times the items are released (duh, put in some effort or don't bother) and the people asking how to get "their" TV I'm sure AMEX will figure out the "insiders" are a waste of time.

ditto.
I am in

What is an insider and how does one become one?

In the past, I haven't had any luck "winning" a thing.

Thanks

There's no 'insider'. Incredible how a rumor can spread so easily. Despite what AMEX may think about FWers and 'hackers', there has never been any intrusive attempts that was condoned by FW or any group uof people with the MyWishList promotion.

In the early versions of this promotion, Fwers were able to use their collective knowledge to gain an upper hand by sharing information that allowed to get an upper hand on the average Joe/Jane (ie: tokens, frames, java, IP Banning avoidance), all of which do not work anymore with recent versions. It was more AMEX programmers with a grudge match than anything. As a typical FWer, we all just want to get a really good deal, and that's what MyWishlist is.....a really good deal.

It's been a great promotional tool and works in promoting AMEX's brand quite successfully over the years. Despite all the disappointment in prizes this past summer which continues into this winter's (Wishcert traditional TRU and Amazon are missing for the 1st time), I will find myself at my usual spot on the computer three-six times a day again for the duration of the promotion. It's worse than the slots!

Click click click....2 more days.

...........

No Amazon, lots of crappy stuff.

The code writers hired by AMEX definitely have a grude with FWers.

ah, no more fun.... i sooo miss the early days.
