Is this some sort of scavenger hunt game where you find the item listed for $1? It sort of seem that way to me. Can anyone be more specific of how this works?
This is not a deal at all, it's more like a crummy Cap'n Crunch sweepstakes. Why would anyone waste their time looking for a needle in the eBay haystack?

Limit of one (1) eBay $1.00 Holiday Doorbusters Event Hidden Listing purchase per person per eBay User ID per household during the Promotion Period.
So be careful what you buy if you want the expenssive prizes.

I say if you're lucky to find ONE deal, go for it. If you pass on something, in the hopes of being the one person to get the plasma TV, you're definitely an optimist.
I have AdBlock and was able to see the page fine. So I'm confused on how this works too. Do we just randomly get lucky and find it in the search results? Because I assume it doesn't show up as $1 when you search for the item...

We need someone to find one and screen cap it so we see what it looks like...
People have already won a few Wall-E & Jawbone headsets. The key is to click on the item and that takes you to a particular section of eBay. Change your search options to Buy-It-Now with free shipping with a price range of $1-$1.
Right now the TV takes you to electronics, and there are 67 items when using those search terms. Make sure you have the "Sort By" as "Time: newly listed" to show the newest listed items.
I'm using FF & Reload Every [set to 5secs] to keep any eye out.
/edit/ here is a winning Wall-E auction [auction number 250331328378]
Looks like there are 50 of some items vs. others (like the plasma TV) only (1). Even if you keep hitting F5 in the hopes of catching the TV, what are the odds you'll be the one to snag it? Even less than getting a woot-off boc.

Why does the main site still say there are 50 available?

Reminds me of the good ole days of snagging laptops on Dell Outlet. Anyone want to write a script to automatically buy it when it comes up?

I don't think the promo site shows realtime inventory... Kinda misleading since you have no idea if the thing is sold out or not. People have reported success with searching for the closed auctions though...

Please, someone smarter than me post something like this!!
Why? They're making up random seller names, so you can't search by seller. However, it would be easy for someone to make up a name woth 0 feedback, and post the same images. Oh well, they'd get $1.
You don't have to search. Just fill out the form for the random draw.

What keywords are you searching for?
Leave the keywords blank. If you want to search, you can try "Holiday Doorbuster Event Hidden Listing" or some combo of that. I'm trying to stay away from using the search box to avoid the possibility of eBay changing some of the terminology of the promotion.
lazybummm said: here is a winning one, look at the seller, looks kind of shady to me
I don't think you have to worry about it since the person is "id verified"...
I mean it could be a scam, but if it is you're out 1 dollar? It is important to keep the search preferences in mind- Buy-It-Now, FREE SHIPPING, price $1 - $1
So far, Wall-E and the Jawbone headset have been in the correct categories for listing purposes, so I'd imagine the TV should show up under TVs in electronics, but keeping the net bigger yields more results...

Also, if you are the 'chosen one' to win the TV, you will have to pay income tax on it. eBay will be sending you an 1099 form. its on the fineprint on the promotion site, right under the TV
eBay is a funny monster. Sometimes new listings show up quicker on searches, and soemtimes it shows up quicker listed in a category...luck of the draw!
not a good idea... if you look at small print... you have to fill a 1099 tax form... meaning... when taxes come due in April... you have to pay back $4,900 dollars worth if you get the plasma... and in MD that would be $1255.00. so in reality, your paying 1255.00 for the TV... you can buy other stuff with that... imaging buying the C6... how much taxes will be stacked to that?

That is fine. $1,255.00 + $1.00 for a 65" Panny Plasma. I take that anyday.
Now for the C6, I would love to have it, but I'm not sure if I could afford to pay around $13k in taxes. I'll take it for $1.00 anyway and I'll just resell it to offset the taxes and pocket some change.
just tried a search in Electronics for max price $1 and got this: The results do not include the price range that you specified. eBay does not support price range filters for top level categories.
