I guess they are not partnering with anyone for coupons on the tickets this year? I wish they would go back to Best Buy and make them accept as many tickets at once as you want to use
no news yet on the bucks..i dont think they have them this year cause i think they would at least added that...i dont think there will be many ONLINE prizes either (cause you had to land on chance to get a free prize and now its only 1 person per day)
little werid thing cant remember if it was the same last year

it says IN STORE GAME ends nov 2 but online agme ends 11/16 but then again it says only ends 11/2
sort of werid ...i always though the game ended the same time online and instore
The McD game used to be good when they had Best Buy Bucks, but they stopped that in 2007 and did worthless Foot Locker ones last year.
The worst thing is they used to honor mail in (SASE) entries, but stopped doing that in 2007. There were some lawsuits around it because it broke US laws.
2004,2005 and 2006 were the golden years. There were people who made hundreds of thousands of dollars on the promo by redeeming Best Buy Bucks and selling stuff on eBay. Not bad for a couple of months work.
Sadly, these contests, where the diligent FW can score, have gone away.
I use to eat a lot of MickeyD's (but I exercise and am in shape), butsince they decided to not honor SASE during the 2006 promo, I go here very infrequently.
And the online games are a joke...they were decent in past years, but last year they sucked, and the odds were beyond horrible.
Since Circuit City died, Best Buy has no motivation for the promo. McD should partner with Amazon - that is Best Buy's main competition now.
Yeah, I was around for a few of the good ones. First year I did it (the SASE thing) I redeemed mine at bestbuy for a 4 slice toaster, the next year I did alot more and got an ipod. Oh well.
i've eaten at MCd about 3 times in the past 6 years. Just wondering how the SASE thing worked back in the day.
Did people use bulk mailing rates and send 10,000s of requests for game pieces? did they receive food pieces as well as best buy bucks? just wondering how the strategy worked.
In 2005,2006 and 2007, people would send in individual SASE. Bulk mail was done by some, but it still was stamped - not metered.
You got back 4 monopoly piece and one Best Buy Buck (either $1 or $3).
So let's say you sent in 1,000 entries. That cost about $800, (or $400 if in VT) but you would get back:
200x$3 BBB 800x$1 BBB Hundreds of free food items.
So that was $1400 Best Buy Bucks for $800 (or $400 if in VT) People would buy iPods or World of Warcraft cards and sell them on eBay for close to retail.
Some guy sent in 50,000 entries...he cleared closed to $500,000 cash (non-taxed, no less) when all was said and done. Not bad for 2-3 months work.
The biggest challenge was peeling and redeeming everything within the time parameters of the game.
This doesn't count the thousands of free Snapfish photo prints and other game prizes.
It was the golden age of contests. Not as good as pudding cup dude, but close.
The worst part is that after 2006, the employee and manager started stealing the in-store supplies, and had their buddies cash in. And of course McD stopped honoring SASE in 2007, so that made it a lot less fun.

yea back in the day you could of quit your job and moved to vermont and made more cash in 2 months then working the entire year .. sadly those days are LONG gone .... CHECK OUT SUBWAY THOUGH... SUBWAY IS the new mcdonalds
those game pieces are getting insane amounts i seen 100 pieces unpeeled go for 100 bucks..
100 pieces would be 50 meaning 100 stamps (if not in vermont) mean
45 bucks in stamps for 100 profit 22.50 for 100 in vermont
times that by 10 or even 100
100x in vermont would mean 2,250 bucks in stamps say 2300.... if the 100 kept up 10,000 bucks or even say 7500..
5200 buck return is very nice.
Man i thought rules be up by now but found this
The online Game will only be open to residents of the U.S. and Canada. For complete details and official games rules, visit www.playatmcd.com beginning Sept. 22
so sounds like rules will not be told until SEPT 22 same day as the pre release starts

Well the rules should be out any day now. Monopoly rules links from 2006 and 2007 redirect back to http://monopoly.promotions.com/postmonopoly/index.html
The 2008 rules link goes to a somewhat broken 2008 monopoly site: http://monopoly.promotions.com/monopoly08/rules.do?page=rules.html
Any monopoly related link you click on the 2008 page redirects you to the http://monopoly.promotions.com/postmonopoly/index.html page.
Hopefully this gives people an idea of what to be searching to find this years rules earlier than released to the public. Years past Sept 17-18 is when the rules website was first discovered.
You may be right. However I have found the rules a couple days early 2x in the last 4 years. Mcdonalds obviously has to get the website online and check it out before it goes live to the public. Even a couple days early lead time is worth it if you are planning on sending in a bunch of envelopes.
Just a quick update. Mcdonalds has started making some updates to the website for Monopoply 2009. Rules are not posted yet but I'm betting they will show up soon at one of these 2 links.
