Target Discussion & OT

Due to the amount of awesome community involvement, we seem to have a need for a non-specific Target-based deal discussion thread.

If you're new and have questions, please feel free to ask. I'll try to keep the OP updated with any Target tidbits that would be of benefit to others.

Do NOT ask for copies of manufacturer's (internet or printed) coupons. (You should be able to request MPP of coupons as long as they are PDFs released and hosted directly from the manufacturer.)

Do try to include as much info as possible if providing a TQ + MFQ match.

Do try to be nice to those who may not understand the situation or are new to FW.

Do report people to the staff if they are causing problems or repeatedly ignoring basic FW rules.

Do use the "edit" button if you forgot to add something, instead of posting again seconds later.

If you accidentally do repost/double post, just hit the report button and the staff can remove it.

You are off to a great start as your first post is chock full of useful information. There are enough Target threads, why do we need another? It will just serve to scatter information in too many places.

it really is about time...but maybe a "Publix competitor coupon deals" thread is the best answer?
(It would be easier to find, and I would check it often)

Incidentally, Publix is planning to put barcodes on all Publix coupons soon, and hopes to replace
their $5.00 off coups with gift cards.

It seems they printed up 10,000 $5/20 coupons for a local running event...
and had over 87,000 redeemed!
[$385,000.00 loss?]

Technically, the Target coupon thread is about Target coupons and not just about Target, so that information can posted there. Competitor matching info is more informative than some of the comments in that thread. You are lucky that your Publix matches Target coupons. None of the Publixes here do that, including the one that is within 100 yards of Target.

What other places take Target coupons?

We have 17 or so responses in this " much needed Target thread" and so far there are at least 4 posts about Publix and 2 about Wal Mart including yours coming from somebody who was absolutely giddy when the OP started this " useful and needed " thread.

The unfortunate part about your response is that you can't READ what this thread is for. Its a thread for using Target coupons elsewhere to get great deals! If you don't like the thread- get the $#@& out!!! Stop coming back!!! You aren't welcome here!!! Switch back over to your questionable websites and do your business!!!

Just wanted to follow up on the Papermate Pens Deal that was posted earlier in this thread for Publix

Yesterday I used 5 of the $1 off papermate pen coupons from Target. (Printable online)

I also used 5 of the $1 off sharpie marker Target printable coupons. (The sharpie highlighters are BOGO)

I received ten packages of papermate pens for free and received 10 pkgs of sharpie highlighters for 50 cents each!

Again- this is for PUBLIX stores that accept Target as a competitior.

Great for Back to School!

You were not simply using ten coupons. You were using 5 of the same coupons for each product. Publix has no control on the fact that Target coupons can be PDF-able. Because you can in coupons doesn't mean you should. Abuse of the system leads to increased restrictions on coupon use and it ruins it for the rest of us.

I bought other items. It's not like I was just buying these items or using 50 of the same coupon like I see people do. Increased restrictions is caused by misuse and fraud. Everyone knows me at my Publix and has no issue with me using 5 coupons on 10 items. Please keep your opinions to yourself if you don't know what you are talking about. This forum is for deals- not opinions. Thanks.

This forum is for opinions, so actually, you don't know what you are talking about. This is deal discussion, which includes opinions. I do know what I'm talking about with coupon abuse: just because you can get away with something with coupons, doesn't mean you should. Seeing people abuse coupons puts a bad stigma on all coupon users and will cause stores to continue to tighten their coupon policies. People that abuse coupon policies ruin it for everyone.

People may have five computers in their and vicinity, but I doubt they go to each one and print out the proper two coupons. Summerpeach, you greened the person who was complaining about the women filling up her cart with free pens and tape at Target. The store allowed it! She went for it! You shouldn't have a problem with that.

I can foresee both Target and Publix changing their coupon policies soon. More Publixes will stop taking Target coupons. Target stores will put restrictions on coupon numbers and may even begin putting unique codes on the coupons. Not to mention that money isn't imaginary. Publix has to cover those coupons. That means my food bill goes up.

I have to apologize. I did not realize that you were the foremost expert on Coupon Fraud.I disagree that my coupon use is on the level of filling two carts full or misuse of any kind, but I will agree to disagree as I am not an expert and that is obviously what you get paid to do. My apologies.

You could buy the tees. They round down the coupon to not exceed the cost of the item. Target does this on ALL coupons to my knowledge. They don't pay overages.
