Grand Total $181.99

did u get order conformation via email

Full price at Costco. They wouldn't pricematch.

Thanks~ just ordered 32GB from MicroCenter. not holding my breath...

All local W-M and OD stores OOS in Central and North Florida.

Radio Shack locally has them in stock and will not Price Match

Just came back from Bestbuy. They stop selling Touchpad even if they have tons in stock. they will return all of them back to HP. They will not price match.

Honestly, i think this is the best strategy for retailers to do. It is HP's mess. There is no need for big stores to take care of that.

I think all the stores that do not price match will end returning all remaining touchpad back HP. Guys should check HP website in the coming days.

Good luck.

buy at 475 (32gb) and try to get the difference back later, worst come to worst return them

Office Max returned them all to HP. just spoke to one of the managers

Yeah problem is at Amazon all the Touchpads are from 3rd parties and not Amazon..so a bit more complicated.

Amazon will not do price adjustments last time I tried.

what did you try to PM last time?

i have done it a few times and it was painless, being that this is manufacture drop we might have a chance.

worth a shot

Some units listed on Amazon now are SHIPPED AND SOLD by other companies. Amazon has nothing to do with the prices those sellers chose, and can't PM for a third party seller. And, if those sellers don't allow returns - don't expect a return to work.

not all 3rd-parties...Amazon has the 32gb in stock from Amazon

OfficeMax will not Price Match. The person on the phone said to "All I can say is to just watch the website maybe".

PCRichards seems to be going through if you got in last night.

Okay, an update. Got a confirmation email from MicroCenter. Ordered 16gb at 7:30CST. I've seen others, though, that got the confirmation email from MicroCenter followed not long after by a cancellation email. Will update again if they cancel it.

Thank you for your order, xxxxxxx.

Aaaand, just like that, got the cancellation email. Boo. So if you ordered after 7:30cst from Microcenter, you're probably out of luck.

Gals should do the same !

Good luck to all.

I was so lucky. After I saw this thread, I called several local Office Depot and WalMart stores. Touchpads are totally sold out in WalMart, but a few available in Office Depot. I asked the manager to hold one 32GB for me, and I went to that store at 9am when the store is open. I got it. The manager said I was lucky because they received tons of calls about the touchpad, and they decided not to hold for anyone anymore. When I got into the store, all other toucpads were gone already.

BTW people said they were able to order touchpad from HP by phone, while website has none available.

Don't hold high expectations on it. I have been through this excise 2 hour ago. Your cancellation email will follow.

This is the hottest dead product I've ever seen in my life !!!!

I think this deal is dead. I checked WalMart, OD, and OMax. As others indicated OMax is sending all of them back. OD and WM said there had been people in and out all morning and they only had a few to start with. The guy at WM said they started with 2 units and approx 600 people had been in looking for them. The best bet would be to catch HP when they sell off the returned units. I'm bummed; I've been sitting on the fence with regards to getting a tablet but for 99 dollars I'd do it in a heartbeat.

If the manufacturers are watching here is the story: at 400-600 dollars nobody is buying. Sell that at 100-200 and they will sell in huge numbers.

Ditto here.. but I bought 2 just in case the price drops in 90 days. Otherwise these are going back

Yeah, I'm sure selling a product at a loss has a huge appeal to all the big computer companies out there !!

So if retailers suddenly sell it for $99 today, who takes the hit financially? I would think they would just send them back and let HP liquidate them at their loss....

wouldn't it be GREAT if OfficeMax began clearance just as the 100% Backpack money came through? (next month)...

For those of you that purchased a unit in store - have you been able to create a webos account and/or access the app catalog (or whatever HP calls it)?

I don't have mine yet, but I'd say absolutely yes. No way HP would shut down servers the day after the announcement, rendering units that are still being sold useless.

I'd imagine they will be shut down like 10 yrs from now just to avoid lawsuits...that is assuming nobody picks up WebOS (which I believe someone will).

yes. I just did.

If the consumers are watching here is the story: these things cost HP about $315 for HP to make according to iSupply, not including packaging, accessories, transportation to the store, etc. It doesn't matter how many they sell if they are losing their ass on each one. The thin margins is exactly why HP wants out of the PC biz altogether.

i just got two at WalMart for 149.99 they said it just dropped in their system

Good thing for them is they get to write this all off to offset taxes.. and help them probably not pay any taxes at all this year!

I love how the price on e8ay is hovering around $249 - $289 for the 16gig.

These sellers are probably kicking themselves for waiting around to sell and now trying to prey on people who don't follow tech news by offering a LOW LOW price!! Scum!

16 or 32?

Amazon has a web page that says you can sign up to be notified to when this item becomes available from HP. 16GB Can't find the link for 32GB

Amazon Link

If all the retailers are having to send them back to HP (Radio Shack told me they probably would have to) they might show up on Amazon again?

Little help please.......how will this affect owning a Touchpad?

Snipped from PC magazine.

HP Kills TouchPad, Support for webOS Devices
Hours after news broke that Hewlett-Packard was considering a spin-off of its PC business, the company also said that it will discontinue support for webOS devices, including the TouchPad tablet. The demise of webOS, meanwhile, comes a little more than a year after HP acquired Palm for $1.2 billion. At the time, HP said Palm's webOS would allow it to take advantage of features such as true multitasking and always up-to-date information sharing across applications.

You're not serious, are you? ... ??

Can trade-in a "like new" HP touchpad on Amazon for $227

I believe you have 7-days to send it in, after you request a trade-in shipping label
