Cheap Internet in Queens?

I just moved back to NYC and I can't find a cheap internet provider. I tried At&T but they told me they don't provide service in NY. I'm unemployed so I am not looking for a "bundle" with the tv and a phone. I was paying $20 a month. Is there anything comparable out there?

Who is the cable provider? If you are unemployed, you might qualify for new low cost options. Comcast has this.

I don't have cable, but I know Time Warner and Verizon Fios are offered in this area.

At one time you could get a naked DSL line from Verizon (not particularly speedy, but cheap, ~$30), however they may not offer it any longer.
