I put YMMV because I clicked on a link in my email so it may be targeted. Also YMMV is because on my first order it charged a 9.95 shipping charge for a total of $11.71 inc tax.
On my next order I uploaded a picture only instead of using text, went through the checkout and noticed that shipping is now free, so my total now was $.99 plus tax. I had to do separate orders for the price to stay at $.99. I ordered 3 at $.99 and one at $11.71.
I'm going to use 2 of these for deposit stamps for checks I receive in my business and the other 2 as signature stamps.
This might be a work around to get every order to be $.99. First write the text in the online editor to see how much will fit, then Write the text you want in ms word, use the win7 snipping tool to create a pic of the text, upload the pic as your stamp text. It didn't look very clear online but i think it's gonnna do the job for what i need.
Also, if someone knows how i can post a link without it including my email address, please share.
I don't think there is the usual Staples item number as it is a copy and print item, i can't find it listed on the receipt or the site. Here is a link to a page with the item. It's the one at the top normally $18.99. I'm also going to attach a screenshot of the display page and the receipt i was emailed.
It's up to each person if they want to risk AA, but it does say "limit 1".

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's not targeted.

Yes, you're correct it does say limit 1. Has that ever stopped us before? Did you really mean to use risk "AA" for this or just order cancellation? How bad could any AA be beyond order cancellation? Finacial review? Credit Limit reduction? I'm just joking.

Nice! I searched before I posted but did not see this. The link is right at the top.
What the hell, either I get it or they cancel. Might as well take them up on the free 3 day rush over priority shipping.

Here's a way the deal might make sense even with shipping:
You can get more than one of these for 99 cents. It appears to limit the 99 cents deal to 1, but you can go through, put one in your cart, then go back to the beginning and make another one, and when you go to check out they'll all be 99 cents each.
Shipping is $9.95, but no matter how many you order, it's $9.95
So it's about $11 for one, but $6 each for two, $4 each for three, and you get the idea...

when i did mine, if my stamp had text it always charged the shipping, if i used an image instead of text they were all .99cents free shipping. that's the pattern i found. even though i paid the shipping on the first one, the subsequent ones charged the shipping if i used text.

Just to let you guys know, they are offering 100% back in rewards on these stamps next week.
As for AA, I'm not really sure what they could do. If they realize you already bought one for 99 cents, maybe they'll attempt to charge you the full amount for the next one and you wouldn't be able to return it because it's "custom". Again, I have no idea what they can, may, or will do, and I also wasn't trying to make a high road argument, I just mentioned it so that people are aware of the limit.

Thanks OP! I made a nice return address label. I found a nice calligraphy letter and put it on the left side, plus 3 lines of script and it was $0.99 with no shipping.

I uploaded an image of a white pixel with a black border, then cropped the black out in the upload process and used that as my image. Then I was free to use whatever text I wanted to.

Sounds like genius! It took me a second to figure out what you were talking about, then it sounds like you just added a picture of a tiny invisible dot along with your text to make the shipping free. I wish I would have thought of that.
Just to let everyone know, I got 3 of the 4 I ordered today via ups. The packaging and shipping alone easily cost more than $.99 cents. The one where i uploaded a picture of the text instead of using their text tool is very usable but no where near as sharp as the one which was made with their text tool. Also, even though it was a picture, it came with squiggly lines underneath some of the words as if from a spell checker which the person making my stamp didn't remove.

You joke, and while I doubt Staples would do this for address stampers, since they aren't resellable to the extent electronics are, they definitely do blacklist people who abuse bought coupons / buy and resell items. IIRC, yesidoknowitall can't buy more than one or two laptops per deal they have, or something like that. And his online orders all disappear.

I have a question about the stamps. I formatted mine online, and around the text there's a black border - will this border be on the printed stamp as well? Thanks!

There's no border on my stamps. I don't remember what it looked like online though. However, I'm pretty sure this deal is over.
