i placed an order on delaextreme.com on 5/11, it posted to my CC account 5/15, on 5/15 2 more transactions occurred with charges posting 5/17 1 @ $50 and 1 @ $1449, i cant say with certainty that it's anything other than coincidence but i have had this card since 2007 with no issue, and it was the first time i have ordered from DX.

CC company took swift action, just wanted to give y'all a heads up

Wow you post on my thread that I am cheap and you buy from Delaextreme, And you say you want to give everyone a heads up, talk about calling the Kettle black. Right back at you pal

lol

uh huh....well I've placed many orders with them over recent years and have never had a single problem with that

I'm not saying it was them, but perhaps they have a data breach on their end, or its not related to them at all

Hey Guys, my credit card got frauded, and since I bought something from Deal Extreme it must be them!

That's a bit of a reach.

  • Set the monetary limit to a buck or so higher than your purchase total.

  • Set the expiration date to the minimum allowed.

If you later decide the company is OK and you want to purchase something else, re-use the same card, bumping the amount and date as necessary.

P.S. This works great with Citicard - not so much with Discovercard...

Some people here make fun of my security settings, but I have represented people in federal court who have been charged with wire fraud. So no javascript and no Intel on my computers. Two questions. First is javascript enabled in your browser? if yes go to question 2. 2 Is your processor an Intel processor? If yes it is possible that someone has used one or more of the 53 Intel errata exploits on your computer to obtain credit card data and you would never know. This problem was demonstrated by Mikhal Kaspersky at Hack in the Box in Kuala Lampoor Mayalsia in 2008. It is now accepted that the javascript/Intel errata exploits were responsible for the successful hacking of CENTCOM's computers at McDill AFB in Dec. 2009. http://news.softpedia.com/news/Kaspersky-to-Simulate-Successful-... The fundamental problem are unfixed flaws in the cpu itself. The issue appears to be fully resolved in Ivy Bridge. Fingers crossed. Rule 1 should be turn javascript off.

I have experience for buying from them, there is still not these problems.

As far as I see, DealExtreme is a listed company at HK, so I think its not they fault, but the delivery time from them is very long.

I'm sorry. Did you just say that because they're based out of Hong Kong it can't be their fault??
