It doesn't show up in My Shipments, as it doesn't come from DISH. It comes from Roku. You'll get it in that time frame...I did. I got an HDMI from DISH that I had no idea was coming - thought they botched the order...

Fine choice if you don't care about the Viacom channels (Comedy Central, Nick, Spike, TV Land, etc.) They dropped those, and I don't think they're buying any of their customers Rokus. DirecTV drops

The CSR said they can set it up so the premiums automatically come off after 3 months, but I'll believe it when I see it.
Thanks OP!
You can check / set up the premiums to not auto-renew yourself in the "My Offers" section of your MyDish online account.

AMC is owned by Rainbow Media (Cablevision aka the Dolans). Removing the channel is collateral damage from the bitter "Voom" channels suit currently going on between them and DISH. There weren't even any negotiations about renewal rates, etc.
I'm afraid I don't share your optimism for a quick settlement. Do you really think they'd be sending affected customers free Rokus if they expected the channels back soon?

Did anyone have any deal on TOP 120 package? I am already currently on fist year with the Amazon $200 GC promotion.
I just signed up for Dish a little over a month ago (after getting rid of God-awful DTV which I had for over 14 years). I was not offered a Roku (my package did not qualify), but just getting rid of DTV I feel like I already won the lottery.

DirecTV drops AMC is probably the best network on TV right now, premium or not, and the best show on TV starts its final season tomorrow. Personally, I'd be a lot more concerned about that then losing every Viacom channel. And some of the Viacom stuff, like Comedy Central's shows, can be watched online for free (legally).

Not any more. Viacom pulled the online access to pretty much all their shows when this dispute started.

DTV is terrible. They refuse to replace equipment with more current ones after you have been a customer for many, many years. Every time one of my receivers had to be replaced, they just replaced it with the same (lousy) outdated model. It wasn't until I canceled ALL the way that I started getting calls with all kinds of offers (half off all programming for a year, free new receivers with no contract, free HBO etc for a year). I told them, "how about taking care of the customers you already have when you have them instead of waiting until they leave?".
I had many repair issues, and had the back-up plan (or whatever it is called, where service calls are supposed to be free). Every time they would come up with an excuse as to why my particular issue was not a covered benefit. Wrong color receiver, it is raining today, etc (ok, I am just kidding here, but just barely).

After putting it off and putting it off, I finally called the retentions number today (888-683-6074) and got the deal with no problem. I told the rep that I was upset about AMC being canceled, was looking forward to watching the Breaking Bad premiere this weekend, and waited as long as I could for the channel to come back on. Also mentioned that I was still agitated about missing the first couple of weeks of baseball season with Peachtree TV being delayed due to contracts. I told the rep that I have been a longtime customer (about 7 years), have the Top 250, and told her I knew of some people getting the free Roku to watch AMC content & the $10/month credit. She checked my account, asked if I have a PS3 or XBOX (I don't), and told me that yes I would qualify. She immediately offered the Roku & the $10/month credit, and told me that she would add the $35 one-time credit for the season of Breaking Bad. She asked if there were any other shows I watched, and I told her that I'm looking forward to The Walking Dead when it returns in October. She said she would put a note in that if AMC wasn't back on Dish by October, they would credit me another $35 for that season.
Entire call took about 7-10 minutes. Rep said I should expect to receive the Roku in the mail in about 5-7 days.

On the phone with Dish retentions now.I complained about the AMC drop and was asked if I owned a PS3, 360, or SmartTV.. answered no. The rep asked me about which shows I liked on AMC, and then started talking about a Roku and how they can be purchased for at Wal-Mart for $50.
I then told her that a "friend" had told me that I could receive compensation for Dish for this inconvenience. She put me on hold for a few minutes, and came back with an offer for a free Roku. I told her that I was also interested in a $10/mo statement credit considering that I would now be required to purchase shows off of Amazon or iTunes for viewing on the Roku. She offered a 6 month credit. I told her that I would accept a 12 month credit and the Roku. She put me on hold again for a few minutes and then came back with approval.
I almost requested the $35 one time credit as well, but didn't want to be too hard on the poor CSR rep

Dish does the same thing like it or not. Unless the model is functionally obsolete to them, you're going to get the same one as a replacement for a defective receiver.

Did online chat. Didn't feel like calling and talking to someone.
First rep transferred the chat to "account specialist", when I mentioned AMC. She gave $10 x 12 months + 3 months of HBO / Cinemax. I already have Roku, so didn't care.
CSR: Hello XXX. I see you are concerned with viewing AMC shows. I show you did not have a package that included AMC. It is true those shows are available at Amazon.com. Because you have been a customer for a long time I can offer you 10.00 off of your bill each month for 12 months with no commitment.
Me: That will be great. I also saw some offers about other premium channels. Is it possible to give some free preview of HBO / Cinemax ? That will help a lot.
CSR: Sure. I can do 6 months at 1/2 price or 3 months free. Me: 3 months free will be excellent.
CSR: You have elected to receive HBO and Cinemax for three months at no cost. Once this promotional period expires, you will continue to receive HBO and Cinemax at the regular monthly price, currently as much as $26.00 if you only subscribe to these premium channels.

I expect as much. But no way will I stay again for 14 years, just out of habit. I may just go back and forth every 2 years (though I have to say: so far I am more impressed with Dish than I ever was with DTV).

To watch the rest of season 5, you will need to make other arrangements; however, DISH and AMC look like they will come to a settlement soon, but probably not that soon.

Since I was considering changing to DTV from Dish later on, can you tell me what was bad about DTV? did you have an older model or did you have one of their newer Whole house DVR? Did DTV also have stupid 800-call-grl or "party Line" type of commercials that annoy me so much on Dish?
I too am going to think about switching back and forth between DTV and Dish every 2 years just to get the newest equipment.

Free Roku and HDMI cable supposed to be received by 7/20 $30 1 time credit for Breaking Bad Had to insist on a monthly credit, but the best she would offer was $5 per month discount for 12 months No contract extension and the Roku is mine to keep.

I had gotten the $10/mo for 12 mo discount, and the Roku player (+HDMI Cable) but it didn't get me anything I didn't really already have - my BluRay player and PS3 both stream almost all of that stuff...so I called back today and told them I wasn't any further ahead, and asked about the Hopper... She waived the fee for the hopper, so i'm getting that next week. The only downside is - locked into a 2 yr contract (and a slightly higher monthly fee...which the $10/mo credit will help to offset).
The upside is - I read today where the 'dispute' will most likely be resolved in time for Walking Dead's season premiere in October...so I got all the swag, and hopefully, AMC will be back shortly... Thanks OP.

All Roku is, is a device that allows you to stream content from the internet to your TV... Stuff like Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, Crackle, and a bunch of other Free or Pay content providers. Most BluRay players, game consoles or even the TV itself allow you access to most, if not all, of the same stuff. Don't get me wrong - it's nice to have, if you have nothing else that does the same thing...and it was F-R-E-E...but...not worth the screw job that those of us that *do* watch AMC got...

Gave me a $30 one-time credit to offset the purchase of Breaking Bad through Amazon via Xbox. Ok, that takes care of that, at least the first half of season 5; but what about the second half (which looks like it will be next summer)? And what of Walking Dead? Those are the only two I care about, though sometimes IFC will have something I want to watch. Guess I'll call DISH back and bitch some more... maybe they'll take care of those too. If not, I'm gonna be really pissed, since before switching to DISH from Comcast I had researched the channels to be sure they offered everything we wanted to see. Maybe I can swing a "Hopper" out of them. I really hate the crummy DVR I have with them now. Even what should be a simple thing like cancelling a recording already in progress, is almost impossible. TV1, TV2 BS. I *never* had such trouble with the Comcast DVR. Only prob with them was they kept jacking up their price!

From what i've read, DISH will most likely back down before October (which is when Walking Dead comes back...perhaps too late for Hell on Wheels...) because if the court case actually goes to trial, they stand to LOSE $2.5 billion or so, to AMC over them cancelling some channels w/o telling AMC they were doing it...years ago... DISH evidently destroyed some of the evidence, which doesn't look so good for them...so what you have now is Playground 'posturing' of the bullies...they'll make nicey-nice before too long, and all will be well. Go for 'Da Happa'...I have the VIP 722k right now...it's not horrible, but the Hopper will be much nicer (and lots more storage, ta boot).
Oh, and if you call back...bitch...but bitch nicely. Just say that you're very disappointed that you won't be able to watch your favorite shows..and that you may leave because of it, however, you've talked to 'friends' in the same boat, and they were offered the Hopper...FREE..
I also had a promised $35 credit that did not show up. Good thing I have a copy of the chat session.
