With more and more online retailers being forced to collect state sales tax, States' sales tax holidays are becoming a more important tool to budget your spending... especially for larger purchases such as back to school and computers. Currently, 19 states are participating. It was hard to find one resource that has a complete list of states and exempted purchases, working links, or direct links to tax holiday information. If any of the links or information below is wrong or outdated, please post and I will update the OP. TIA.

Yeah, that's pretty much where I got that up to $175 info, and the tax holiday guide from 2004. Wish I lived in a state with that rule... don't think I've ever paid close to $175 for a single article of clothing outside of a leather jacket... once... still regret it... but it is gorgeous. LOL.

We have a 365 day sales tax Holiday here in Oregon! I work just across the border in WA so all my coworkers have stuff shipped to my house to avoid sales tax. It's no biggie, but gets me a nice lunch once and a while.

The tax holiday has been passed by the house but still needs to be ratified by the senate. So, tentative but expected to be passed.

Thanks, I updated the OP with your link. I noticed that the article says the holiday has been approved by the Senate and is waiting on a vote by the House, not the other way around. For the sake of you MA residents, I hope that it does pass and the governor signs off on it.
