I thought that it might be helpful to have a thread that lists companies that provide excellent and easy to use warranty service, as that can often make or break our experience with a particular product.

For instance, I have both heard and experienced Moen's great customer service. Moen does not make you jump through hoops to obtain warranty service, as their reps can typically identify your exact product merely from your description and then, based on your description of the problem, immediately send out replacement parts. Most if not all Moen products are covered by lifetime warranties.

Does Craftsman still provide its legendary service, where if an item ever breaks, you simply take it to the store that sells its products and get a replacement one for free?

Any others?

Used the warranty several times with no questions asked and always quick service.

I really like Moen's warranties and customer service as well. Their reps are always highly competent and, if the repair is critical (meaning that the product cannot really be used without it), they will send out replacement parts by overnight or 2nd day air for free. The only downside that I've noticed with Moen is that at times their hold times can be extremely long (30+ mins is not unheard of).

Another company with amazing customer service is Weber (the maker of Weber and Ducane grills). I don't know whether Weber's customer service for Ducane grills is the same (Ducane grills are cheaper than Weber and use lower quality parts, so I don't know if its customer service is the same) but on the Weber side, they are open 7 days a week until something like 11pm, have very short wait times and highly competent reps. Repair and replacement parts get sent out right away as well and their warranty coverage is excellent. We had an issue with our new Weber grill that prevented our use of the grill and, upon my request, Weber immediately sent out a replacement part to us via overnight mail at no charge.

Hayward pool products. Allowed me to take in a defective product to a local dealer. No paperwork, product was repaired in a week.

+1 on Delta faucets.

Epson has good warranty service, except their products REALLY suck and I would never buy another one.

L.L.Bean has no hassle returns of anything they make at any time for any reason. Free shipping on all purchases online, too.

REI - (Return Everything, Inc.)

No hassle returns... but you know how I feel about these companies? Don't abuse them. They're trying to do the right thing and back their product. But when someone comes in with shoes that are 4 years old and worn to the nub and they say "I want to return them because I didn't like them"... grrr...

Agree. I hate that. Nothing ruins a good thing like jackasses who think a liberal return policy means "item for life". See: people who returned working laptops and TVs to Costco every couple years.

Andersen Windows - 10 year window warranty, just give them the numbers off the glass
XFX video cards - lifetime warranty if you register within 30 days of purchase

Victorinox suitcases. But be careful, the warranty isn't the same for all products.

A few others are like that too, like Symmons, and American Standard. Never asked about overnight on them though. Some can take a while though, got some Pegagus faucets once on clearance and two years later one of them broke, took a while to get through to Home Depot and to finally get the part, but I still got the repair parts.

Ray Ban sunglasses will repair/replace their sunglasses with a $15? (i think maybe $25 now) handling charge.

Leatherman and Gerber knives/multi-tools.

Price Pfister faucets.

Sent me replacement parts with just a email via their website form. No receipt / verification required, just gave a description of the leak and they sent out several parts.

I had a good experience with the company that provides Staples cheaper pressed-wood shelving units, the 2/3/5 ones. I contacted them about a broken board, they sent it to me without charging me anything. I don't remember the name of the company, whether it was American Wood Products or what.

apple has great warranty service

tramonita, garbage can lid broke, they sent me a replacement

Belkin - I Some items have a lifetime warranty, going back a few years had a router killed by a lightning strike. Once I got passed the overseas garbage had a replacement in a few days and free shipped the dead one back...

At the same time used their warranty and guarentee on a back up battery they covered the damage to my pc and replaced the backup battery.

Nike sucks, I wasted $6 to send back my broken gym bag which supposed to have lifetime warranty, and they refused to send me a new one for some stupid reasons.

Waterpik - bad products great support send me parts many times via email request

Logitech- emailed the company about my wireless keyboard / mouse combo, provided scan of receipt, pic of defect, and a CS emailed me back offering to send me a replacement. No need to send the old one back. Since my old one was discontinued, I got an upgraded set as well.

SangioveseW said:   Does Craftsman still provide its legendary service, where if an item ever breaks, you simply take it to the store that sells its products and get a replacement one for free? For non-cutting hand tools and garden tools, including hoses, yes, although my father was asked for a UPC for a hose bought before UPCs came into use. BTW the new Craftsman garden hose warranties exclude the rubber washers. OTOH Sears Craftsman Evolv hand tools require a receipt for warranty claims, unlike regular Craftsman and Craftsman Industrial.

Moen faucet co. is great for warranties, as are Delta/Peerless, Price-Pfister, and Kohler.

Philips Norelco shavers. They have sent a replacement one while I was on the phone with them.
Amazon for the Kindle. Same story, broken screen - shipped the moment I called and sent a new box to send my old one back.
Costco. Enough said.
And one more vote for REI.

Any victorinox knives

+1 for Logitech, they stand behind their products and are not shy about sending a brand new replacement (personal experience)
-1 for XFX, yes -- lifetime warranty, etc. but I read a couple of times on computer forums that it does not work as well as it sounds (no personal experience though)
+1 for Moen (personal experience, part was here next day) .. but truth be told this seem to be the industry standard there, so I'd expect Delta, Kohler and others offering lifetime warranty to be at the same level
-1 Clarks/Bostonian (shoes) -- sole develop a crack, no one was even interested in helping (despite "lifetime warranty")

Brinks door locks have a lifetime warranty w/ great service. They sent over replacement door handle when the door handle from the keyed entry & deadbolt combo I bought & installed myself began to stick, Depending on circumstance, tech would have been sent to repair, but after I described the problem, customer service phone tech determined I just needed a new lever & quickly sent a replacement.
No receipt request. No sending broken one back.

Milguard Windows have lifetime warranty for original purchaser of their windows then 10 years for second owner. I had a double pane skylight that lost it's seal and fogged up. One phone call and they sent someone out to measure for the replacement and in about another week they came out and installed it. Awesome! We have 20 years on our Milguard Vinyl windows and that is the only defect we have had. (Skylight was aluminum frame).

Even paid for the install? If so, that is great. I'm always disappointed when you see a great warranty, but then read the small print and find out it is going to be an expensive hassle to actually use it. Case in point is the RugDoctor carpet cleaner. The unit has a 5 year warranty, but if you don't have a local repair shop (who knows where those may be), you have to pay to ship it to them. If unfamiliar, the RugDoctor is heavy and large and would cost a pretty penny to ship. Same with my Hunter air purifier. 5 year warranty, probably would cost $70 just to utilize it though.

I've had quite a few problems with FEIT Electric CFL light bulbs from Lowes. However, I just call the customer service number, give them some numbers printed on the bad bulbs, and I have new bulbs in a few days. Very happy with them, even though the bulbs burn out.

Very happy with them, even though the bulbs burn out.I agree GENERALLY. They made me mail an LED bulb back to them (at my cost) which was $4-5 but the bulb was $15 and they sent me 1) a replacement plus 2) a random CFL as a means of making me whole.

When I spoke to the guy on the phone, it sounded like I was going to get 2 of the $15 bulbs back, not one plus a $1 CFL. Oh well.

+1 I bought 3 video cards through them over the last 2-7 years(?)and have had to use the warranty 3 times. Twice on the same card. They only have a few reps so email responses were delayed by a few days. One issue, the fan was running 100% full and loud as hell, their driver implied you could adjust it but it didn't work. They send me a inline reducer to cut the power to the fan and thus the noise, for free. Other two issues where a card that had artifacting issues, and one with bad caps. And yes, reduced fan speed and thus cooling could cause a card to overheat and die, but they were different cards in different rigs.
-1 for having cards that had issues and had to go back in the first place.

+/- I shipped them a nvidia card and they replaced it with an ati card. While having a faster chip, the memory was slow and reduced, so overall a lose. After some emailing back and forth they did ship a better ati card with better memory.

They only carry ATI anymore, not a nvidia fanboy, just had better luck with them. Moved on to EVGA.

Don't forget costco!

KOSS headphones - lifetime warranty but you must pay to mail it in and include a $6 check to cover return shipping.

Canon - had bad copy machine cartridge - call and they ship replacement.
