Hi,
I plan to join Costco Membership, so that I can increase my savings.
I would like to know, if there are any ongoing referral plans, where I get a signup bonus on joining Costco.?
I have a AMEX Blue CashCard, so I won't get another AMEX from Costco.

Please suggest.

As a past Costco member, I received a $10 offer to join, about a year after my membership ended. It wouldn't be worth waiting for the chance (except they opened one I can kind of reach during lunch around when the offer came). Referral bonuses are available. I obtained, but it may (or may not) depend on the specific location, the card at the member service counter. It provides $10 Costco Cash cards to both the referring member and new member.

try Costco table at fairs, festivals.

If you know of any Costco member who can refer you, both you and the referring member get $10 credit.

That Sounds Cool. Yes, I know couple of my friends who are enrolled for costco membership. However, where can i find the form/flier which says referral bonus for signup? Appreciate all your help guys...

Wow, I have no idea. I don't understand why no one has posted where to look for the form.

I am a member with Costco for the past 10 year and since couple years (AMEX blue with executive membership) ., did not hear about referral's either

Attached a scanned copy of the referral form. It is available at the membership desk.

Just joined a couple months ago, and they offered me a $55 statement credit if I got the AMEX Costco cc.
Took them up on it, and was approved right on the spot.
Don't really plan to use the card, tho you get 3-2-1% CashBack on various categories.

I've heard you don't need to join to shop there. Just get a friend to buy you a gift card and you can shop with it (I haven't done it though)...I don't have the need to shop there.

Am I eligible for the coupon book, when I RENEW my current membership (which expires by 8/31/2012).

Thanks PGold....

I am not in for the "New CreditCard from Costco AMEX Card" as I already have AMEX Blue Cash. Moreover, once you cancel your Costco Membership, there are chances that costco AMEX need to be cancelled, so staying away from it for now.

If you don't have the coupon book, you can always pickup one at the membership desk. Also, almost all coupons have the same barcode. So as long as you have one cupon to scan, you get the discounts on all eligible items.

If you plan to shop regularly at Costco, then having the Costco AMEX card helps. You get 3% Cash Back on gas, 2% on travel and 1% on everything else. This is in addition to the 2% Cash Back if you sign up for the "Executive" membership. The executive membership is $55 extra but if you don't make $55 in the executive Cash Back at the end of the year, then Costco refunds the difference back to you.

That's the regular coupon book they send out every month or so to all members, not the special new member coupons that you can only get with an offer, which offers free chicken, water,, ect.

From Costco's terms:

Costco does not guarantee that your reward
will equal or exceed your Executive Membership upgrade fee nor does Costco automatically refund any shortfall between the amount of your
Executive Membership 2% Reward and your upgrade fee.

Note "nor does Costco automatically refund"

Correct. As far as I know, you have to go to the service desk and request a refund for the difference. But apparently they provide it without much hesitation once you ask.

Yes, it is not automatic at all.
Last year they bugged me EVERY time at checkout
to go exec, so much I eventually gave in
although I knew my shopping would not justify the extra $55.

So, I was there yesterday, after shopping I asked and got $16 back,
it should have been $22, and the guy was really pissy.

Not the perfect Costco experience I had for last 10 years.
That pissed me off enough I now plan to invoke
their "full refund guarantee if dissatisfied" for any reason.
