If you plan on heading out for Black Friday shopping in Oklahoma, make sure you are looking at Oklahoma ads because of the state's Fair Competion Law it is not legal to sell an item below cost plus 6%. Comparing national ads to the local ads for Wal-Mart all the TVs are much cheaper in the national ads than in the Oklahoma ad.

The Law is designed to protect small stores from being driven out of business by bigger competitors. It is not a new law but this is the first year the Attorney General is enforcing it.

well thats good to know, I have a buddy that is in a market for a new TV thanks for the info OP and fatwallet

This is good for the small businesses, but very bad for the consumers. It's a personal choice between supporting the small businesses or saving money personally. I guess buying things online might be a way to go around this issue if you live in the State of OK.
