Hi there,
I want to buy an iphone5 unlocked so that I can use it with Straight Talk. I have a best buy gift card for about $540. The problem is best buy is selling unlocked iphone for 699 instead of $649 advertised on Apple Store website.

Any suggestions how can I use best buy dollars to Apple Store. I explored the option of buying best buy --- itune gift cards but the website says itunes gift card will not work for Apple Store purchase.

Sorry if this is the wrong sub-forum ( I guess it a deal discussion), but any help will be truly appreciated. Thanks
ovaloffice

The President may have company at times in the "Oval Office" and may have more than one device there. Bberry was designed with business use including very high security in mind. Look back to stories about The President and The Berry in preparation for 2001 term.

I saw several Verizon iphone 5's for 594 at best buy
I have been told that the IPhone 5 from Verizon is unlocked for GSM providers

Depends on the service type you want with you iPhone, if you want Verizon service you need to buy this from WalMart/Straight Talk,. If you have good service with AT&T buy a AT&T iphone 5 or a unlocked one and buy a Straight Talk Sim card.

I agree with lesns2001. Buy directly from WalMart/Straight Talk. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Apple-iPhone-5-16GB-White-for-Straight-Talk-No-Contract/22401228. Same price no hassle.

Otherwise:
Straight Talk Sim doesn't provide nano sim cards so if you tried a different path you would have to trim it and then shave it.

Get yourself and android save a ton of money. I mean that is the whole point your going to Straight Talk right? smh and send me your gift card.

buy kindle gift cards, you can use them to purchase iphone 5 on Amazon

Still no AT&T SIM's on StraightTalk...all mentions of AT&T have been erased from StraightTalk. Crap...

Save $5 if you buy the sim and airtime bundle.

I wouldn't buy a Straight Talk iPhone because they are locked to Straight Talk But that's just me. I'd sell the Best Buy gift card and buy my own iPhone from the Apple Store.

I finally made the switch from ATT to Straight Talk and bought my own iPhone(s) and it's the best thing I ever did.

If you don't need lots of minutes
Get the T-Mobile $30 plan
5 gig data
unlimited txt
100 mins voice
use voip for the rest

If this true its very important ..

First off the Straight Talk iPhone 5 is Verizon and the iPhone 4 is Sprint. You need these exact ones for it to work on Straight Talk, meaning you can't bring a Sprint or At&T iPhone 5 to it or a Verizon or AT&T iPhone 4 to it. I work inside WalMart for an outside vendor and these are specifics they told me about.

price match at the BB store to the Apple Store.
buy either an att iphone 5 at best buy or a verizon iphone 5 since. the verizon iphone 5 comes unlocked from the factory so you can use it on any gsm network. i use the iphone 4s att on Straight Talk... very fast and no dropped calls. $45 plus tax unlimited. i use about 1gb a month. don't go over 2 or they will drop you from the program.

iPhone on PagePlusCellular ??

Comments on ST vs PPC ??

Thanks

At the inauguration you could clearly see him with a crack berry but the first daughters were sporting iPhones, and from the look of them, only 4 or 4s. Didn't look like 5.

Although the iPhone 5 from ST is a Verizon model, you CAN use an unlocked iPhone 5 from the Apple Store. You simple get the ST sim kit. Today, none of them would work in 4g anyway - only 3G.

You cannot use a Sprint one though. An inner 4 or 4s must be carrier unlocked for them to work with BYOD sim.

It is my understanding that Straight Talk's service will work with either version of the iPhone 5. (GSM or CDMA). I'd recommend using whatever is better in your area. In my part of the US, Verizon has much better service. I'd also buy from Straight Talk if possible, if not-price match it like others have said. The service for the price is unbeatable.

BTW-they are offering a $2.50/month discount for signing up with auto-pay for their unlimited service so the cost goes down to $42.50/mo...YMMV
