Subject: Rebate for Noxzema/Old Spice at Menards

Hello,

I was wondering if you are the same company that is offering this rebate at Menards this week.

The rebate goes to the following address:
Universal Group/Offer C
Noxzema/Old Spice Rebate Offer
PO Box 3167
Northbrook, IL 60065

Are you the same people? I would like to get a phone number to keep in my records and/or a website to track my rebate in the event my rebate doesn't come.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

I hadn't received my rebates from the earthstone and the old spice razor rebate either.
I called rebated HQ for the earthstone one since the address was El paso Tx, the lady told me to fax it in again and I did. However, nothing happen after that.

The actual check comes directly from the Earthstone company, not rebateshq.com.

Sorry I didn't keep the phone number.

I might have found the Earthstone phone number. Try 1-888-994-6327

I bought QuickSand Painted Surface on Sept 24, 2004 $3.5 as advertised Free after rebate. On Sept 25, I sent the form, original UPC, and rebate receipt to:

Earthstone Internation
Dept # 353
Offer # 403
PO Box 981123
El Paso, TX 79998-1123

After 3 months, there is no phone, no website, no email address for me to track my rebate status, by google search, I found www.goearthstone.com, I sent an email regarding my rebate to : cserve@iosnet.com. Earthstone asked me providing my address so they could check the status of my rebate". I did submit all information they needed then they responded: "Your information is in our database. Once the checks are released your rebate for $3.5 will be mailed to you."

Several emails have been sent since that but no check, no response from Earthstone. It is not a big amount but I am so frustrated.

THAT'S what the check from Earthstone was for...

I got mine a few weeks back.

what is this?? I got a check today along with an apology, but I have no clue what it is.

Earthstone is that stupid little "Quick Sand" rock looking like thing that you could use on painted surfaces to remove layers of old paint or varnish, strip rust from metal surfaces, smooth rough wood, sand drywall. Each block will only do one of these things, depending on which rock you purchased.

They were displayed near the paint dept and are about 3" x 4" x 2".

Hardly worth the stamp for the rebate in my opinion.

Found this with the stone.........

I bought them (sanding blocks) about 2 years ago when they were a Menards sponsored (Elk Mound, WI) rebate. I decided to pass this last time when they were MFG rebates. My luck with MFG rebates at Menards is very mixed (Sylvania = really bad, Wagner = touble (CPG/Arizona)) so I pass on most if they don't go to Elk Mound.

The sanding stones themselves seem to disintegrate pretty quickly--another reason I didnt buy more this time. They work, but you go through them fast. I'd use a regular 3M sanding foam block before using this--especially on soft wood with routered corners as these sanding blocks tend to gouge things easily.

I finally received my rebate for the sanding stone, and yes it came from Earthstone. I had no idea what this was until I checked back through my records (a list I keep on my refrigerator of my Menards rebates) and noticed that the amount matched the one I was missing for the sanding stone. They included an apology, as others have mentioned, in addition to a coupon for a $1 rebate off my next purchase. Yeah right, like I will run out to buy their product again at full price just to get a dollar back, and probably wait another 4-6 months to see my money back!

I think I am still missing my Old Spice / Noxema rebates too, so I'll need to follow-up with the information provided here by others. Thanks guys!

Normally Menards is very quick with their rebates, and reliable. Need to watch for these manufacturer rebates, as opposed to the Menards ones, and stay away from them I guess.

I totally agree. For some reason Mfg rebates through Menards take FOREVER to receive.

I did the Sylvania light bulbs twice over the past couple years and they are the worst! I will never purchase a Sylvania rebate item ANYWHERE again! Light bulbs are so cheap anyway. I don't know what I was thinking when I purchased them on rebate!

I would have to check my "records" but I'm pretty sure that I have missed out on a couple Sylvania rebates through Menards too...never again!

Any MFG rebate forms without a website, or toll free number ALWAYS prove to be problems.

I've started to find the rebate form FIRST and read it BEFORE I make my purchases.

Unfortunately Menards won't stand behind the MFG rebates either.

But yet they claim to be dedicated to "quality" and "service".... just so long as it's not the "quality" of a rebate company nor the guarentee of appropiate "service" of said rebate company

(Home Depot moved into their turf and is claiming they're the "[insert state here]'s Home Improvement Headquarters"... pretty much what Menards old front store sign slogan used to be.

Menards is changing slowly and subtly over the last year, but really over the last 4 months most noticably.

Their ads are now worse and more amatuer than even Fleet Farm's (which are at least professionally done by actors, not some non-actor "customer")...

Interesting to see what will continue to change at Menards... Any bets on when Christmas will be up??? They were putting it up the weekend of September 4th and 5th at one of their North Dakota stors in 2004... totally insane, and it was completely up by the following weekend!

On the last weekend, I went to Menards to show the copied submission to the manager. He gave me $3.5 + tax certificate check. Today, I received the check of $3.5 from Earthstone International, L.L.C.

I received a letter from Universal Group today regarding the Old Spice High Endurance Batteruy Operated Trimmer (which is a total POS!).

They are denying my $5.00 rebate even though I sent in all the required items with my rebate!!!

Here's their letter:

--------------------------------
Dear XXXX XXXXX,

Thank you for contacting the Universal Group regarding the status of your rebate submission.

Upon review of the paperwork submitted, your submission did not fully comply with the terms of the rebate and therefore does not qualify.

As an expression of our appreciation for your purchase we are enclosing valuable coupons for savings on our products. We hope you will take advantage of the savings offered by the enclosed coupons and we look forware to your continute patronage.

On top of it, they had the nerve to send me coupons to buy more of their crap even after they denied the rebate.

I called them on 3/29/05. They said the infomation was in their system and I should receive my check soon. Now they send me this letter dated 3/30/05..

Anyone else get this crap?

Their phone number is 800-441-1394
Website www.universagrp.com

I've emailed them and provided a copy of my rebate submission (certificate, UPC, receipt and stamped envelope I mailed it to them in!) as well as a copy of the letter I received today.

This so ticks me off!

Please PM me if anyone else is in this boat! Thank you!

Called the 1-800 number. After multiple busy signals and hang ups, I finally got through to someone.

She said that I had to send proof of my rebate submission to:
Universal Group
Consumer Relations Dept.
2665 Park Center Dr.
Suite A
Simi Valley, CA 93065

She couldn't provide a phone number or email address for these idiots either! Now I'm going to have to wait another 12 weeks for my rebate!

This is so much BS for this stupid rebate!!!

Sorry to hear. I even managed to not succumb to the urge to buy them with the 11% coupon or even the 17% off bag sale... figured it would not be worth the hassle after the initial rumblings.

Sounds like my bad luck with a couple Office Max and Staples Pargo rebates that got denied for random reasons and calls/emails would fix, only to be reinvalidated with a new reason... finally got them all.

I purshased a 3PK Old Spice Razors from Menards Nov 2004 and sent in a $5 rebate submission to:
Universal Group/ Offer #D
Old Spice Try It for Free Rebate Offer
P.O. Box 3167
Northbrook IL 60065

No heard anything from them, will try email first and then call.

Hi! I was waiting on the Noxema rabate and was just going to call them BUT today I received my $5 check. I sent my renate in on 1-24-05. I hope this helps someone to know that I did get mine so hopefully you will get yours too! Tracy

Did everyone die? We use to have people who received the ad on Saturday and would post the FAR and hot deals. Where are you????

free after rebate rose bushes 2.50. 2.50 rebate limit 2
Thats about it for any real deals.

Thanks, but that ROYALY stinks!

Not an awesome ad, quantities are very small.

Does anyone have a phone number contact for Rebate International? They have been so slow to respond to my emails. Now, my past rebates are not showing up online. I have not received any rebates after mailing them over a month ago. Please help!

Their rebate web site seems to be broken. Nothing will pull up for anyone I entered.

I've been stashing my rebate checks away since March 1st since Discover is giving me 5% back at Menards, so I wont even start using the cards until June 1 again. A relative had 4 of them never appear from last year, and unfortunately even when their site worked, you couldn't track back further than a year, we need to resolve that.

Me thinks Menards is attempting to combat rebate fraud/abuse given the fact:
- Their rebate forms now state (added last month) "Only the sender can redeem the rebate check"
- They are lowering quantities significantly compared to old days on same or similar items
- They are doing more non-free rebates on same or similar items that used to be FAR
- They have much fewer rebates running at any one time
- They are reducing the amount of "good" items and moving more towards lesser needed, lesser brand, etc...

But all in all, they are still way better than rebates at other stores. Definitely keeps me coming back and willing to spend more there on non-rebate items than going to L/HD.

Hi! I sent in my rebate on 11/29/04 (a full 2 mos. before you) and still have not received it yet. Do you have that phone number? Thanks.

I was never able to get a phone number for Rebate International. I did write them a note that I would contact the FTC if they did not reply to me. My rebates were processed the next day!

Update on Menards:

Apparently to keep people from abusing their rebate program (like I have posted previously---going to rummage sales that have taples full of FAR with super high quantities like 20 hammers, 40 tape measures, etc.... all former FAR items) they not only have restricted quantities to 1 on the good stuff, they now, starting with tomorrow's ad, are beginning to tie FAR purchases to requiring "additional $10 purchase" PER OFFER.

Plus they are now (starting ~3 weeks ago) ending previous ads a day early on Saturday instead of Sunday, so there won't be stacking of purchases on Sunday's to use last week's FAR purchase amount to apply towards the new week's FAR additional purchase requirements. (Your only hope is to be in the handful of MN/ND stores that still bring out the Sunday ad on Saturday--wonder how long that will last??)

Sadly I was very turned off by this today and with them being OOS on the previous week's FAR (weed killer and car cleaner stuff), I couldn't find enough filler to enable myself to buy one each of the Nelson hose nozzles FAR that each required an additional $10 purchase in order to get FAR---coupled with 6 people in every lane of every checkout meant I left the store without purchasing anything.. a huge rarity.. No longer a required desitnation for Saturday morning shopping any more.

If anyone does try to purchase these new "additional purchase required" FAR, let us know how they verify--e.g. does the cashier ring everything else up, then these, does the cash register NOT print out rebate receipts for the items if you havn't purchased enough, and is is it stackable (e.g. if you buy $10 other stuff can you get ALL of the freebies, or do you need to buy $10 x freebie wanted). And are other freebies couted towards the amount of the opposite freebies. (e.g. Office Max does not allow that any longer--you have to purchase non FAR stuff in order to use a $ off coupons.)

These are the questions that need answering to understand their new rebate requirements fully without "random" cashier interpretation as is usally the case.

Major disappointment...Used to be the best in the business, now they're heading towards Tiger Direct!

I bet their rebates are still processed very fast, but who will be sending them in anymore???

Not a good move, I'll just buy all my other stuff from Home Depot or Lowe's now, I have no reason to step foot in Menards anymore...

The ad didn't say $10 additional purchase per item. It was $10 additional purchase, period.

I was able to ge the three hose nozzles and also got the weed killer and car cleaners as I guess my store wasn't all that busy.

The coupon for the Dale Earnhardt Decal was a little sneaky, however. I forgot to tear out the coupon and when I checked my receipt, sure enough, I was charged for the thing.

Anyways, I didn't have any problems or questions asked of me.

Also, as a BIG card holder, I get the free coupons all the time that tell me that I must purchase $5 additional on my BIG card. I usually just use my rebate certificates and no one has ever blinked.
