ramanapv03 said:Yes, I saw foambymail is lot cheaper, but I doubt about the quality. The base foam could be developed by carpenter, for which the Mark's store is giving only a 5 year warranty. The other store in eBay with similar price is memoryfoamoutlet, they made the base with carpenter, stll give 20 year warranty, which I doubt. I feel, resilient or latex base will come for longtime. Does anybody have bought a mattress from any of these stores and be satisfied? Does anyone bought a kit from Mark's store? I heard some stores send the foam as a roll, which will expand after unpacking. Does anyone got like that? EADVSS, I want to know, when you buy the mattress from emattress, does that include foundation too?
On emattress, you have to pay additional for the foundation (that goes for all places). The mattress that I got for my mom is great. she loves it, but if you can get it cheaper from the eBay stores then just get it there.
As for the pillows, DO NOT purchase it from emattress. I referred a friend, and I was sent a pillow. It is not even close to the pillows I got from the eBay stores. The Sleep Shop from the eBay stores have nice 5lb sensus pillows. I bid on two king size pillows and got it with shipping for a total of $61. They are 5lb SENSUS! I absolutely love them. |

I'm debating what to buy to top off my queen mattress --
Should I go with the Sensus 5.3lb 3" topper from foambymail:
$119 (+$29 shipping)
Or should I go with the Sensus 5.3lb 3" topper from Mark's:
$165.75 (+$25 shipping)
Foambymail seems substantially cheaper and have quite a few good reviews over on Anandtech.
Any ideas? |

Has anyone purchased the Sensus Smooth pillow (5LB) from foambymail? What did you think? I know people were saying that the contour variety was very uncomfortable.
Thanks again |

I would recommend a "kit" form (wherever you buy it from) so that you can swap the layers until you find the combination you like. Everybody's comfort zone is different. I got Sensus+Latex25+Latex35, and the total weight is about twice as heavy as my 6" spring mattress. I wouldn't want one with all the layers glued together. You don't really need a mattress cover because those layers will not slide off. |

So where did you end up buying from? Because Mark's uses 28ild in the Del Ray(and choice between 28 or 35ild on his eBay site) and The Complete Sleep Shop uses 20, 30 , or 40 your choice. also do you have 3" or 4" Sensus on top of the latex, and do you like the thickness of sensus you got? I like the idea of the kit too because of the different products longevity (latex is twice as long as sensus) so you can just get a new topper.

I got my set from Mark's -- eBay auction with minimum bid + shipping, which is much cheaper than buy-it-now or directly from his web site. You don't have to buy all the layers from the same source either. Just make sure the sizes are the same.
28ILD is just the nominal value, and you can expect 2-3ILD below or above that value. The actual value is printed on a sticker, and that's 25 for mine.
I have 3" Sensus, and I may actually prefer a 2" one (don't know, since I have not tried one). Only you can decide what's right for you. Sensus+Latex25+Latex35 is great for sleeping on the side, but it's too soft sleeping on the back for me. Now I'm trying Sensus+Latex35+Latex25. I have also tried just two layers of various combinations.
BTW, Quiltflex is nice and soft, but it's too warm for me. I have no problem sleeping on Sensus or latex. |

With the 35 in the middle, it's firmer, but I don't think I'm satisfied with it. I'll try it for another night. I'm thinking of getting a 2" layer of Resilitex15 or Sensus. It's the whole mattress that determines how it feels, not just the top layer. Unfortunately I don't have a whole warehouse of these layers to play with. |

The latex base will be soft when compared to resilitex, but will last longer. I have bid for 10" king( 3" memory foam and 7" reflex core foam) from Complete Sleep Shop. Thinking whether to keep that or cancel and order a mattress with latex foam base. |

Anyone know the density rating (ie 3lb, 4lb, 5lb) on those IsoTonic Perfect pillows at Bed, Bath and Beyond? How are they compared to the Sensus 5lb smooth pillow (not the funky contoured ones).
If the IsoTonic Perfect is good, 20% off their regular price of 49.99 could be good.. |

Instead of a foundation, I bought a bed frame from Ikea. On top of the slates, I put a piece of 3/16" peg board ($10 from Home Depot) to give it a flat surface. |

Did you end up getting the resilitex? How did it go? What cover did you manage to put all of these in? |

I just ordered the Resilitex a few days ago, so I don't have it yet. I'm using standard sheets as the cover. |

We had a memory foam topper for our previous mattress and it was pretty good compared to the bed without it. But then the pad gradually failed to return to its original shape. Also the comfort of firmness was not quite compatible for both of us.
Now we took the plunge in purchasing the Select Comfort (Sleep Number) bed with a pillow top. This bed is perfect. I can adjust my side, my spouse can adjust her side to the firmness we desire separately. I highly recommend going with a completely adjustable-firmness bed instead of a mere memory foam topper.
With our new matress and Costco memory foam pillow, I fall asleep in just a few minutes. |

update, I havent yet bought a mattress but I have bought 2 king sensus pillows from the The Complete Sleep Shop on eBay and love them. I am back to trying to decide which to buy the mattress from now. I am getting a king and the choices are.
Marks half price 1 King 76x80x9 Sensus mattress kit featuring 3" of Sensus 5.0 lb density memory foam and two 3" layers of true Talatech Talalay latex
OR
The Complete Sleep Shop 10" King Mattress - 4" Sensus 5LB laminated on 6" Natural Latex
My questions are... 1) Is 3" or 4" of sensus better on 6" of latex for a 160lbs side sleeper (Marks is a 3" Sensus and the Complete sleep shos is 4") 2) Is there a difference between Talalay latex and the sleep shops natural latex 3) At Marks (im not sure about The Complete Sleep Shop) the king 2 layers of latex are split in half so its is the latex comes in 4 pieces. I have been wondering if they ever seperate. The Complete Sleep Shop laminates them together. --SMD |

I'm no expert but I'll take a shot at this with what I have learnt so far...
I have read @ some sites that you go with 2 in sensus if you weigh <200, 3 in for 200 to 275 and 4 in for over 275. Peple sleeping on stomach need different support from people sleeping on back - I don't know if this formula takes this into account.. IMO if you are only 160, (even in the worst case scenario (of you being a stomach sleeper which you are not) you can get by with a 2" and may not need more than 3".
Yes Talaly is THE BEST LATEX you can buy on the market today...also the only one with 20 yr warranty
These are heavy pieces, and when confined to a cover, I cant see 'em seperating. I believe that you still get the comfort layers in one piece... |

Hope you can help me decide....I am getting real close to buying a set and nailing down some unanswered questions...
What did you not like about the sensus+35+28 - was this too soft or too firm or something subtler than these extremes?
I see that the resilitex 15=28 latex in support. Would you want to do sensus + 2" 15 resilitex + 3" 35 Latex + 3" 28 latex? If so, in your opinion, does having the 3" 28 latex at the bottom make any difference at all?
Why do you think that adding the resilitex in between will make the setup any different than having a 5" 28 ILD latex? |

What's the big deal with memory foam? I don't know anything about this stuff. My wife and I do need a new mattress set.
If I get memory foam pad, should I not get a mattress with the plush surface? ... or a firm surface? ... or does it not matter? |
