is this a question?

yes it is a question. what to offer?

First read the entire thread first. Then go to edmunds and provide us with a link. Then you'll be ready to ask an intelligent question for someone to answer

Huge thanks to mrblackpcs2!! I went to my local dealership and got a new AWD Rav4 for invocie including t/t fees OTD!!

Edmunds' TMV was 208XXX+tax and fees. I am so thrilled. A one year used Rav4 with same specs is going more than the price I paid! I read the whole thread and researched for 2 month before making the purchase.

now You need to decide which car you want. I personaly would take the your current lease out the equation. Meaning I would just pay the 1800 you owe ahead of time. If you dont the dealer will just play with the numbers so it looks like they are paying out your lease when really they are putting that 1800 back into your new lease or finance. Then you end up paying interest on the 1800.

Okay, I pay off the lease and drive to an Acura dealership. If I buy a TL from them, would the Acura dealer be able to return my Diamante to Mitsubishi? Or, are they gonna make me return it? Or, does it depend on the dealership? If the dealer can take it, then my transition to the new car will be a lot easier but wouldn't they charge me for wear-and-tear? Or, do I make that part of the deal? I know the dealer will look hard for anything wrong with the car.

By paying of you lease early its your responsibility to return the car. Get the car fully detailed before you turn it in. Spend 50 to 100 on a professional detailer. Call Mitsu they may have a pick up service.

I'm looking to buy a Mazda3s for the wife ( I read through the entire trend, lots of good info).

Location: Madison Wisconsin 53711

Pre-approved for financing.
Link to a PDF of Edmunds if the below link doesn't work
MSRP: 19455
Invoice: 18057
WI tax = 5.5%

Link to edmunds

The Mazda3s seems to be a hot market car and hard to buy at invoice.

I still don't understand how I can go in and write down 16,000 with T/T included without the dealer laughing at me and showing me the door. The nearist Out of town Dealers are 75-100 miles away (I'm willing to drive if I need to).

I have purchased one car new. 2000 Isuzu Amigo. My local dealer found one and we aggreed to 250 over invoice. My dealer couldn't get the other dealer to trade them. So I called up Corp Isuzu and gave them my options I wanted and they found 3 in the country. The one that was nearest to me was 250 miles away. I called them told them I was only paying invoice, they said yes, and drove down and picked it up the next day.

So the next steps are to walk in.

Talk to the sales guy.

Flash my 100 dollar bill and tell him if we can aggree on a price Mr. Franklin is his.

Write down on a piece of paper 16,000 including t/t

Sale guy takes it to the manager, who then writes WTF?!? where did you get a number like this.

I cross out his mumbojumbo, write, were do you get your numbers from?

The manager comes out PO'ed and says WTF?

I say lets deal?

He gives me and offer.

I counter with xxxxxx including tax title

....

and so on.

Right?

so your out the door price should be around 18000-18900. Also dont mention you are pre approved until the price is settled. Besides they may beat your rate.

Mazda? Hot? Really? If you say so....
If You listen to the dealer every car they sell is hot. Shop the competition too. So when you negotiate you have ammo.

I still don't understand how I can go in and write down 16,000 with T/T included without the dealer laughing at me and showing me the door.

Thats the point. Thats the reaction you want. Because thats the same reaction you need to give them for the price they give to you.

The nearist Out of town Dealers are 75-100 miles away (I'm willing to drive if I need to).
If you save $$$ I would too

ok...dont tell these pointless stories at the dealership. Dont take this the wrong way. I'm not here to be your friend, rather to prepare you to make intelligent buying choices. Be to the point! Who cares that the salesmans grandmother just died? Who cares about your wife? Trust me they wont. They'll pretend to....

Dont recall saying this. You want to approach the sales guy casual. If you pop a 100 in his face you may insult him. That salesman may make more than you. So be tactful. Typically do this before you go inside to negotiate. Be his friend. Dont be a**whole. you want him on your side.

Right?

The manager may not come out or he may write the number you want from the jump. I try to give you an average.

Your number is somewhere between 18000-18500

Also consider the Ford Focus. Theres more cash available in rebates. The vehicles are made by the same company anyway. Thats my opinion

990 for tax on 18k and 75 for the tags and title.

I still see this as I'm getting the car for 1000 under invoice. Meaning it is 17.5k for the car and about 1k for tax/title/tags.

Right?

TIA

Hi, mrblackpcs2, I want to buy a toyota camry LE with side airbag. We visited toyota dealer yesterday. Camry LE
There is $1500 Cash Back available.
MSRP: over $21000
Invoice: $18570 (include airbag, but not include destination fee)
Cash Back: -$1500
Our price: $18800 driving out
dealer: $19300
I feel we can settle at $19000, but we walked away. After reading this thread, I am wanderring whether our price is already too high. Could you give me some suggestions how much is fair to me (sales tax in our area is 6.25%)? TIA

I am interested in getting a Nissan 350Z. I went to Edmunds.com and they have the MSRP listed as $26,800,
the Invoice is $25,066. What do you think I should go in asking for and what offer do you think I should accept. I was thinking maybe going in asking for $24,500? Do you think this is too low? I know these cars are kind of hot right now so I'm not sure how willing they will be to go too low? Any comments are appreciated.
