Anyone try refilling these toners with Samsung toner off E-bay? I'm tempted but don't want to mess up the machine. |

From that earlier deal thread, it looks a lot like the Samsung SCX-4216F, so I'd look for that toner refill. If not perfect, how badly can it mess up the machine?
BTW, this is an awesome deal. Got a few off the last deal (probably my only truly hot OP) and really like it. Highly recommended. |

TemporalIncursion said:overfiend said:weird, so does this come w/ a toner or not? 3,000 is $70 and 5,000 is $80. Doesn't have either selected.
Included: Up to 3,000 page Toner cartridge and 250-sheet standard drawer (USB cable not included) |

no, black and white only. It can send color faxes, but only has a black toner. I'm probably gonna get one of these to replace my HP laserjet 5m
50% off on a color laser printer would be really smokin! |

Sweet deal, thanks OP! My old laser will need a new cartridge soon that will probably cost about $80, so for a little over a $100 more I get this one! Anyone want a cheap Lexmark Optra E312... |

Sorry for the silly question, but if it has Built-in networking, does that mean I just need to connect it to a router & it'll be recognized by the other computers connected to the same router?

You have to set it up as a network printer on each machine in your network. This is a very easy process and is no doubt covered in the manual. Be advised, remote computers can only print with this...fax, scan do not work remotely via network. |

you could always have a shared portion of the hd on the computer connected to the all-in-one and then with it sent there it would effectively be a scanner for all pcs |

If you want to fax something without actually feeding it a paper sheet, why would you want to use it in the first place? fax/modems in the computer work perfectly fine, if not better, for this. |

very easy. here's what you do. hook up the cat5 cable from the printer to your home 4 port cable/dsl router (assuming 80% of all home networking beginning with a 4/8 port cable/dsl router). after that, print out a configuration page and it will tell you what IP address has been assigned automatically to the printer.
go to each computer that you have at home and add a local printer (not network printer) and then add a TCP/IP port and then type in that IP address from the configuration page. then after that, print away....voila! |

Then repeat when your power goes out and your router is reassigned.
