Great deal, I checked the website, and they have a $219/month lease for 24 months. I am sure there room to negotiate the $3000 down they require.
As far as being unique, I think only Honda and BMW make the cars themselves.
Toyota uses Yamaha engines in some models Ford owns Mazda, Volvo, Jaguar, Aston martin, Landrover, Lincoln/mercury... GM owns Chevy, Pontiac, Olds, Satrun, Buick, Opel, Subaru, Saab, Izusu... VW owns VW, Audi, Porsche, Bugatti, Bentley, Skoda, Seat... Mercedes owns Crysler, Dodge, Plymouth, Smart, Mitzubishi...
Out of all the makes, BMW, SAAB, and Subaru used to make airplane engines. Honda and Toyota used to make bicycles.

AKA Subaraab.
As far as BMW being 100% original.. well.. half the parts are made in China.
I have an WRX STi, I think Saab should have rebadged that and replaced 9-3 with it. Immitation is the ultimate form of flattery. GM is so useless these days that they can't even frame a painting right. |

So how does this compare to the new 2005 Mustangs which are highly rated. They can be had around for around 20K. |

Completley different cars. Mustangs are good for summer, but what do you do in the winter? A) Buy a winter beater. B) Take a bus. RWD not good for snow. AWD is great for snow! |

I would be all over this deal a few months back, but at the moment I'm not in too much need of a new car. In any case, I know the wrx is a good car and all, fun to drive etc. But can anyone comment on how reliable subarus are? Just that I dont know too many ppl who owns subarus, but I do know alot of honda owners and a few regretful saab owners.
Also, any more info on the next redesign of the wrx? I sorta like the bug eye look of the 2003, but the slight face life in 2004... no so much. Dunno. More info please! |

Mike Shaw Saab in Denver is advertising the $5000 off (or 0.0% financing) on the New Car Specials page of their site.
Unfortunately the deal isn't so hot on a $299,400 9-2X in their inventory. |

subaru is a solid company. my dad bought a legacy wagon back in 94. it still runs pretty well. i had it for 2 of my college years [definately NOT a chick magnet...] i also ended up putting a fat dent on the side of it. we got that all fixed. but yea, it's had some minor work done on it - brake pads & axle work. the engine has held up pretty well. although, the drive now doesn't seem as 'smooth' - i think i'm just 'spoiled' because i swapped it for the camry 93 xle my parents had. |

You do know that Porsche and VW were founded by the same person. They are practically brother and sister companies. Also, VW and Audi are in a different league then Ford or GM in terms of quality. VW & Audi also use Porsche parts, so it goes both ways.

VW DOES NOT OWN PORSCHE. They're very closely related.
VW does own Lamborghini though. |

I am pretty sure VW does NOT own Porsche.
I believe that a Porsche engineer went to VW and desiged the VW bettle engine back in the 60's 70's, cant remember. |

VW does not own porchse, the SUV was a joint project. As far as subaru reliability they were ranked #1 by consumer reports this month, GM on the other hand... |

If only I had a 30 off 150 coupon for this one, it would really be hot. Also.. how much can I expect to make on eBay on these? |

That extra hot button bonus definitely pushes it down below what you could probably get the equivalent WRX for, too bad I don't have $22K lying around either though.

I don't know which BMW you're talking about and where do you get such ideas/information from, but the ones sold in USA are either manufactured at the Munich plant (3,5,7,M series) or Spartanburg, SC (X3,X5,Z3,Z4). BMW has plants in China, South Africa etc and in the process of opening a new plant in India too, but those are only for the local markets. Read more here.
BMW's manufactured at the Munich plant uses most of their parts from European manufacturers (Hella, Bosch, Mann + Hummel, Eberspaecher etc.) under strict quality control, which is common in the Benz, VW, Audi etc. I just opened up the climate control computer in my E36 this weekend and for a while i thought it might've been made in Asia (Taiwan, S. Korea, China) but nope, it was manufactured by Siemens AG in Germany itself. |

The only other thing I know is that some BMWs are made (maybe only assembled?)in the US.
And VW owns Bosch, but does not put Bosch spark plugs in their engins but buys Japanese NGKs. Funny, you would think that VW would suppport their own companys. |
