Anyone got any thoughts?
Do any of the electronics stores PM Costco?
There isn't, since ProView is a Costco house brand.
Some places will PM Costco and Sam's Club, but it's very YMMV. |

Correct me if I am wrong: 37" 1080p vs 32" 720p would depend on what material you watch and if you plan on keeping up with technology.
I think for the extra 30% viewing are at a better quality might be worth almost double the price if you watch 1080p content.
if you just want a spacesaver lcd then get the 32". Afterall with other technology beating lcds in contrasts and refresh times, isn't that and computer monitor use the main reason to own lcds. you also will not have the burn ins and also it will last longer.
My question is what would be resolution beyond which the human eye can barely tell the difference in the picture? |

Your first question is irrelevant because they are both WS, coupled with the fact the 37" TV is BEYOND current technology
You can't watch native 1080P content, as it does not exist. HD is broadcast at 1080i (Comcast) which can be scaled down. The TV will upscale to 1080p, which may not be a good thing, considering there would be two scalings, at the player and the tv.
The proview's refresh time is 8ms. That's excellent. There is no evidence an LCD will last longer than a CRT.
The untrained eye probably can only see the difference between 480i and 480p. Most people have a hard time seeing 720p v. 1080i (scan lines being what most do see in the end).
But you miss the most important point - the price difference is $800. That's quite alot.
And in no universe a 32" TV a "space saver" |

Well I'm pretty sold on the 32" myself. It's a great deal. There's rumors that FOX and HBOHD will be early adopters of the 1080p content, but I don't think it will be for a few years. The scaling is what bothers me. I honestly do not believe 1080p would be of any benefit to anyone until HDDVD, Blu-Ray. |

My fault, I meant to say that this particular model is specially made for Costco. |

I wonder if I should take the risk and buy a Costco membership just for the LCD, since a lot of people are waiting to buy this. It may just sell out before july 5 |

I have seen this deal on many deal forums, its eagerly awaited, therefore a good sellout risk. And I don't shop at costco much, so just wondering, has costco tended to carry alot of inventory of "hot" items in the past. |

I am not sure how good this TV is as a replacement for a computer monitor(CRT)? Can someone please provide some input? |

As far as running out of stock. You can get your membership now and when this coupon becomes valid, purchase it online. You can pick store pickup. |

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think costco.com allows you to do instore pickup. You can, however, return costco.com items to any Costco Warehouse. |

The coupon or the monitor is on a FCFS basis? I guess the potential risk is spending $45 to join then not being able to get the monitor if they're out. No risk at all. You can even return the membership. |

taken from www.proview.com :
Proview is now in an exciting era in its history! As one of the Top Three computer monitor manufacturers in the world, Proview markets its products under its own and other brand names.
top three ...? what other brands do they work with?
btw, 32" model is not on the US site yet, the largest is 30". EDIT: found 32" on Taiwanese Proview site: link.
EDIT: found on the Hong-Kong site: Proview International Holdings Limited (Incorporated in Bermuda with limited liability) . This is interesting.

I think that is a bit of dis-information so that the local store won't sell out. |

Feel free to show me where on the Costco site is the in-store pickup option. Then you can show me a Unicorn. |
