Ok, but why did the guy give u 2 receipts; one with each the original price and one with the reduced price. Just wondering so we can get the rebate based on the original price. Thanks.
You don't need two receipts....only one. I bought them together. I started out the deal with asking if there was any problem in using my 20% coupon with my purchase. If they would have said yes for any reason, I was prepared to hit several other Home Depots in the area. I was just lucky at the first one I went to. |

He just gave me the old "quote" (sorry..not really a receipt) to show me how much I saved. He said I shoul dget the GCs at the original price. Just in case, I included a copy of the original quote and a note explaining that fact to the rebate address. |

Capacious and quiet, these front-loaders were frugal with energy and water. The LG WM1814C[W] (32) isn't as large as the others but still holds a decent-sized load, and it costs hundreds less.
Dryer Comments: Spacious and quiet, this dryer did very well in our drying tests. The drum is large enough to handle bulky items such as comforters. Gas equivalent: DL-G2524
Does anyone know if the washer and dryer will fit a queen size comforter? some 3.4 cu. ft washers I've been reading about have people complaining it won't fit. Those of you that have it, do you think it will fit? I'm going to Home Depot to check it out tomorrow and see for myself.
Thanks, Toan |

If you look at the way FL washer washes vs a top-load, you'll notice that the cloth are washed when the cloth fold over when it tumbles. This is very different from the stirring stick in a top-load, as the top load washer relies on the cloth being sucked down the stirring stick, and mashed against the bottom fins to wash. If you notice, the top-load washer works more similar to a blender whereas the FL washer works more similar to old-school washing board. This tends to make your cloth cleaner and last longer...
In terms of it not saving energy, it is just not true. By squeezing more water out of it during the higher spin RPM, you're saving more in drying energy. Think about how much energy it takes to heat up water, and to remove all that water from the cloth. You're not saving energy from the wash cycle, but rather from the drying cycle. Of course, if you hang-dry all your cloth, there is not much(if at all) energy saving when using a FL washer.
There are draw-backs to using a FL washer though. The wash cycle tends to take longer when compared against top-load washers. The FL washer typically requires lower-sud detergent (or the FL washer will leak). FL washer requires bending/kneeling down to load cloth. The volume on FL washers tends to be smaller than top-load washer, but because it's missing the stirring stick, it tends to even out this drawback. |

Was in there today also
Rebate was till April 1 I believe
Don't see 1812 listed on the website. Looks like no models with Roller Jets have a rebate currently
Also, I saw the 4 year extended warranty advertised at $149 (this is at a Costa Mesa, CA store). Have seen it a lot cheaper in this thread. Anyone else gets a good extended warranty price in SoCal? |

Does anyone have an opinion or experience with the pedestal/draw combinations which are optional with the front loader machines?

Yeah, this deal is still alive and it can be made even hotter than the OP got... I purchased the WM1814CW washing machine and matching dryer last night at Home Depot.
Here is the breakdown: $799 - WM1814CW Washing Machine $649 - DLE2514E Matching Dryer $25 - Misc. cords and vent tubing $50 - Delivery
$1523 Total
- 20% Home Depot Coupon (expires 4/30/06) You can find the coupon HERE. Note: 20% discount does not apply to the misc. cords or Delivery
$1233 OTD, before rebates
- $50 LG Rebate for Washer - $50 LG Rebate for Dryer - $50 Delivery Rebate from HomeDepot - $75 Oregon Energy Trust Rebate (varies by state) - $100 - $150 Oregon Tax deduction (doesn't equal dollar-for-dollar savings... but it will increase your tax return if you itemize)
$1008 final total after rebates (not including the tax deduction) |

I bought a 1814CW last night
$799
10% off appliances 5 day event (ended yesterday)
$719.1
I also had a 10% off coupon that I bought off of eBay. Didn't think it would work cause the signs in the appliance dept said that no other offer could be used with that 10% off event. But I tried anyways
Seems to have worked. The math on my receipt is weird and it seems to have come out even lower.
I bought the 4 year ext warranty which was actually $89.99 instead of the $169 price listed on the washer
$50 delivery
$50 LG MIR $100 water co rebate $35 elec co rebate $50 Home Depot delivery rebate 12 months no payment 0% |
