Quick update -

There was a delay in delivery from LG, not from Home Depot. But after an extra 4 days we have them installed and they are REALLY NICE.

We had a top of the line Maytag Super capacity top loader, which was 6 years old, tops. The difference between that and this LG is like night and day!! I didn't realize how LOUD our old washer was until I heard how quiet this thing is. I can't believe the difference!

The capacity of the base LG may be slightly smaller than our previous washer, but HUGE is slightly smaller than enormous. This is hardly a base washer. each wash can have 25+ different setting and extra washes. I cant believe anyone would want more washing options with the higher up LG models, as this one can do anything!

Also, the amount of water used was unbelievable! Instead of the gallons and gallons filling the top loader tub, this thing squirted a few drops and washed things very nicely.

My wife was right. Front loading washers are the way to go! LG has done a really nice job with this one!

My wife is ecstatic with these front load washers, and so am I, as I think we ended up with a stacked combo that ended up being better than the Whirlpool Duets, and almost $1000 cheaper too.

Capacious and quiet, these front-loaders were frugal with energy and water. The LG WM1814C[W] (32) isn't as large as the others but still holds a decent-sized load, and it costs hundreds less.

Dryer Comments:
Spacious and quiet, this dryer did very well in our drying tests. The drum is large enough to handle bulky items such as comforters. Gas equivalent: DL-G2524

For some reason, all women want a front load washer and dryer these days.. So if your wife is hassling you for one. This deal is tough to beat.

Don't fret. You posted a good deal that many would be happy to get. We have had our LG front loading washer for a year now and anyone who says they aren't worth the cost needs to run the numbers. And then realize what those numbers actually mean.

Besides the water- electricity- soap- savings, a HUGE savings is found in the number of washes the clothing lasts. The front loaders are reputed to see that your clothes last much, much longer than clothes handled in agitation-based washers.

This is a great post for a difficult product to get at a discount.

Do you know if you have to use special soaps with this washer? Or have the manufacturers stopped insisting that's necessary. I use some hippie stuff from the health food store which I really like, but they don't make a "High Efficiency" version it.

if you live in CT< check the waterbury store front end by the cashiers, they always have deals on appliances, they take off at least $200 on floor models, the other day they took $500 off $1100 oven.

This is a really good deal. I'm in the market for a washer / dryer and this is a great price for LG at this size. I was going to get the 3.5 cu/ft washer because these larger capacity machines were a bit out of my "justifiable" price range... I'll be heading to HD this week to pick them up.
