Sony's CES Website Sony's Press Release Site PR Newswire - click RSS at the top then select the feed you feel like watching, or all that apply (tradeshow news, new products, etc).. Business Wire
There are other places that require logins but thought I would post these for anyone interested in all facets to receive news about any possible announcement tomorrow. Or maybe some news tonight if any journalists can get some Sony official drunk enough tonight at a bar. |

4 times however it may be an import that can't do all the US dvd's but may come out before it's released in the states so you could get a good chunk of green on eBay for it. |

I hope sony is smart about this and produces a ton of consoles for the launch, They have to be taking notice of how many people already want to pre order the thing, we'll see. |

i skipped over this article and didn't bother posting it earlier firstly because after reading the actual report on tgdaily.com it may just be bogus.
TGDaily Link
they had a phone interview with a spokesperson, possibly a PR agent, who said "Although we are participating in many CES activities with Sony, we have no new announcements on PlayStation 3 planned at this time."
- this could have meant that they had no news for the phone interview, not the entire CES show. however, records show that pricetags are not given at CES but at E3 for console systems.
CES is more for demonstrating new hardware from the gaming companies, also GDC (Game Developers Conference) is another playground where consoles are showcased. E3 typically is where the real business is done in the gaming industry and you can expect the same this time around.
gaming horizon reports after the Sony CES conference (just a few minutes ago) saying there was no word on PS3. |

They hype months in advance so we are looking at fall this year. Geuss they want to get things right with the console wich is good but xbox will be killing thier market in the meantime and then release Halo 3 and proballly take $50 off the premium and core price when the PS3 launches. |

at 17:00 (GMT) today we will find out the news.
CES'06: Sony Delivers Future Vision Submitted By: News Bot 1 Hour ago | Technology As widely expected the Playstation3 was a no-show at Sony's pre Consumer Electronics Show (CES) press conference being held in Las Vegas. Instead Sony Corp utilised its presence to continue highlighting its vision for the future of entertainment, leveraging all of its assets to exemplify its position as a total entertainment company as previously predicted. However there is still some hope that the Playstation 3 will make an appearance in some form during Sony's global Chairman and CEO, Howard Stringer, keynote address taking place at 17:00 (GMT) today.

I read the latestt Gameinformer magazine about PS3, it says sometime in autumn release, so that would be around August, September and October. |

thanks for the info now on the ps3's... but I think its a lil too late, I called about every single gamecrazy in LA & OC county and all have preorders of 20+ people, some even up to like 45+.
But anyways... anyone know of any word on GameStop or Eb Games?
Is there any other stores out there that I am forgetting to mention? |

i asked the GameStop guy at buckland hills, CT and he said in the spring that they will do the preordering. he was a high school kid and have no idea on what he was talking about. as of right now i have no clue where to preorder but i will. i really dont want to preorder at the store because of lack of shippment to the stores and fear of getting kicked out of my place in line on the preorder list. so i might stick to online preordering. i have preordered the ps2 and xbox 360 before launch day and i got the system on launch day with crappy shipping but i got it and no waiting in line. |

I'm still not convinced that the PS3 is going to be out in the U.S. before fall. Nobody really has a clue. In the meantime, I sure am enjoying the Xbox 360 I walked in and bought at Best Buy last week. |

Sony CEO Drops Playstation 3 Hints At CES By Spencer Chin Courtesy of EE Times
LAS VEGAS — Sony CEO Howard Stringer gave the public a brief glimpse of the company’s upcoming Playstation 3 game system at the Consumer Electronics Show here Thursday (Jan. 5), though did not say when the successor to Playstation 2 would be available.
Speaking at the first keynote session of CES, Stringer showed a brief demo of the graphics capabilities of the long-awaited gaming system. He said Playstation 3 would support the Blu-ray Disc format and be backward compatible with earlier Playstations. Stringer added that 4,000 Playstation 3 development kits have been distributed globally.
But Stringer did not give a firm release date for the new game system. Instead, he cited statistics on the success of Playstation 2, perhaps as a ploy to sustain that system’s momentum.
At a press conference here Wednesday several Sony officials told EE Times Playstation 3 would emerge sometime in the Spring.
Stringer’s keynote speech skirted any mention of the business challenges facing the troubled electronics giant. Instead, Stringer took a light-hearted approach, marching in celebrities Tom Hanks, Ron Howard, and CBS sportscaster Greg Gumbel to help tout the virtues of the company’s next-generation electronic technologies. |

I just got home from CES and yes the PS3 was there, behind glass in the area they had set up for people to play the PS2. I got to see it lol, but no touching, no playing, and they wouldn't say anything about it. |
