Just got them email that they were back in stock. These have worked great for me in the past. I have gotten media code TYG01 on the 300 or so I have ordered so far however others have reported getting TYG02's. Initially myself and others here thought that TYG02's were lower quality but I actually found out(and posted here)that TYG01's are 4x media and TYG02's are 8x media. So basically you have a shot at getting genuine TY 8x media for 4x media price, plus my NEC 2500a burns the 4x media at 8x anyway.
100: $31-10% off code = $27.90 shipped 200: $60-10% off code = $54.00 shipped
I'm getting 100. Still don't know what I'll do with all this media stacking up at my place, but this is too good to pass up.
My NEC burner burns TYG01s at 8X, TYG02s at 12X. Both are even higher with tricked out firmware. So sounds like a winner to me.
The original poster should probably have mentioned these are regular (single layer, 4.7GB) DVD-Rs, as opposed to DVD+Rs or +R DLs.

SuperMediaStore.com has a 100 pack of 8x for $32.99...they were $29.99 last week. AND they come in a spindle.

I'm going to have to see where they say "Made in Japan", otherwise I think they be fake. The last TYG02's I got from yesbuy where randomly stuck together, and the edges were very jagged. But they all had a media code of TYG02. I don't trust any TYG02 media that doesn't say the words "Made in Japan"

Why pay an extra $5 just for cake boxes? Plus my deal for 100 is $27.90 shipped, I went through the whole checkout process at SuperMediaStore and the total was 100 for $41.56 shipped. They tacked on a nice $8.57 for shipping making your deal $13.66 more than the deal I posted.

Like Ju said.... these are genuine TY02. I've bought from them twice already 2 orders of 500pk.
All were genuine TY02 stable burns at 16x. Plextor 716A.
This is a hot deal!

True, this is not an issue for me though, and most others I would think, as I can burn the 4x at 8x anyway. Still with the high shipping even for 8x I don't think they are worth it for almost $42.
thanks op, in for 100. perfect timing too. i have just a couple left from my last order. they have been oos for awhile. p.s. i have ordered these from s4t before, no problems with the discs, as mentioned, the 4x burn at 8x. never had a problem with s4t.
Shop4tech is not honest, look at the PSP thread! Dude, your a sad case. I read that PS2 thread and b/c Shop4tech made an honest mistake with the price of the PS2's you have the nerve to say they aren't honest. In that thread you said you complained to the BBB and wrote a negative review on bizrate. Man, if there's a definition of having 'NO LIFE' you epitomize it. I've bought from Shop4tech since early 2002 and never had an issue. And even if I did purchase something from them where they clearly made a price mistake, I would try to make them honor there price..i'm not gonna lie..but in the end i'd be extremely reasonable like MOST and realize a mistake is a mistake and trying to bash a company every which way from something like that is pretty pathetic buddy.

Just to be safe, I burn all my data on 2x speed. My concern is the safe, reliable backup. & there is nothing wrong w/ this vendor. I have purchased this same media from them before; no issues, great performance... Thanks OP.
Thanks! All of my friends and I can vouch for Shop4tech.

Hmm just read their Company Rating and Feedbacks from other FWers and im feeling a bit uncomfortable with the order. OMG please go through with no problems. *fingers crossed*
Yep, I bought 100 from Shop4tech before, smooth transaction, good pricing, and FatCash. Anyone telling you they're a bad company, is one of those people that you'll never satisfy no matter how much you bend over backwards for them, they'll still ask for more.
You're dealing with a good company when ya deal with Shop4tech guys, no worries.

I never got around to reading the PSP thread but I must agree with the majority of others here who have had nothing but positive experiences with Shop4tech. I have always gotten fast delivery, good packaging(my dvds have always been nicely bubble wrapped)and the very few coasters I have made with this particular media were my fault. Maybe I've just gotten lucky compared to others but Shop4tech will continue to get my business until they show me they don't deserve it anymore. Ordered my 200 TYs + free gift for only $54 yesterday

I prefer burning at 4x, if you look at the bottom of the disc you don't see any speed changes. Would be interesting to know if these are stable at 2x..they probably are though. I haven't ever had a single problem with any media at 4x speed
Can you write on these w/ a magic marker w/o problems? I had a spindle of cheap silver thermals and I noticed that it was only opaque, and light showed through. I did some tests and if I wrote too much over recorded areas, there were some problems reading the discs. Do they recommend not writing directly on these?

I write on the tops of these DVDs all the time. Since they are the shiny tops they are a kind of smooth so they are tougher to write on but the writing has not caused damage to any of my DVDs.
This item is currently not available but will be in stock soon.

That's exactly what I do. The ink does stay on well I just wish they were matte finish so I could have a little more resistance but for the price you won't hear a complaint from me. BTW, I just checked the site and they do appear to be OOS again. Jeez, when I originally posted to grab some before they were OOS stock again I really didn't think it would be this fast. Now, I'm hoping to get mine.
I have also placed many orders with Shop4tech but the last order I placed I was having second thoughts so I called and canceled the order within two hours of placing it,It's been 5 days and they still have not canceled the credit (bank)card charge. I just called them and they said they will take care of it soon and it will take a few days after the charge has be reversed to show up in my account, i'm not sure what that meant and neither did the rep I was talking to, she said she doesn't handle it. So I have no idea how long they will be holding my money. I will use them again but they get a D- for customer service.

Well looks like those of us who jumped in quick enough should get our orders. I checked the Shop4tech site and my tracking number is available. Says it went out UPS from CA the day after I placed my order and I should get it by Wednesday

UNLIKE CDs, the substrate on a DVD is sandwiched between two layers of plastic. You'd have to work at it to mess up a DVD from the top.
...and I wonder if anyone knows that alot of these Taiyo Yudens aren't prime grade. TY NA saying that these internet sellers are selling discs destined for Mexico, etc.
...and I SERIOUSLY question anyone paying less than 20 cents (not meaning this deal) a disc for TY 8x discs. It's a known problem that some places sell forged TYs, and as always, you get what you pay for. I prefer loss-leader deals at B&M stores. $30 or so a 100 is where I jump, and I like to have it in-hand. The discs for private use, so I'm not running a business off this.
