Anyone know from prior Black Fridays how many of these laptops a typical WalMart store might have?
I want to decide which store to go to first...
I need a new notebook soon, so this is great timing.

It wouldn't make sense for all those low priced loss-leader items to be available anywhere but B&M. They'd be about the only ones of the retailers having B&M stores to do that.

The purpose is to get you to their store so you'll shop for non-discounted items as well. If they made it available online, it'd wouldn't lead you to buy more things just because you're there already.You'd buy it the minute it becomes available and then head to a B&M store that didn't have their bargain deals online.

Clark Howard went and blabbed to America today about the leaked Wal-Mart ad. He specifically mentioned the Notebook deal for $398. Now I will have more folks competing with me to snag one! He did say it will probably spur competitors to lower their prices.

Will cause eBay sellers with not real jobs to go to all the Walmarts buy these laptops so others who really might need one miss out. Like Usual.

From browsing around on a Wal-Mart board, it looks like each store will only get around 15 or 16...and of course they'll be employees that will stash a few away (most Wal-Marts have a few hundred employees)

I am hoping to get one of the laptops at WalMart. I think I am going to post some friends at each store within so many miles and hope that at least one of us can score one.

WalMart is closed on thanksgiving (thursday), so they'll probably open up at 5 or 6am friday morning.

Yes. WalMart doesn't do rebates anyway, except for small manufacturer rebates like the $30-50 HP/Compaq ones.

here the deal guys, Ive worked in a WalMart in the elect. dept for over 3 years. Herehow these laptops always work, we get about a dozen to 20, and we start selling them at 5 am from what im told this year because now we are a 24 hr store. All I can say is that the laptops always sell out extremely quickly. Also, expect the portable dvd player 2 screen system to sell out fast as well.
