:wow: there's more hot deals there than we're likely to find at all other retailers combined. I know where I'm going that morning.

Nothing really jumps out at me. I've been waiting for a table saw deal but nothing yet. Almost jumped on the 12" sliding miter saw deal but I'm holding out for a table saw. Need to be able to cut big sheets of stuff.
I agree some of these are good deals and I will definitely swing by there on BF. That said, I'd like to offer the following note of caution for those who aren't familiar with Harbor Freight: their stuff is not in many cases as durable and will not provide the same level of service as comparable items at Home Depot, Sears, or other stores.
If you're going to use their tools for once-in-a-while jobs, or if you're considering renting a tool and would rather buy it and keep it instead, then by all means consider Harbor Freight. But I would not recommend a lot of their stuff to people with higher expectations or frequent use requirements. Some of their tools can't be sold in certain areas because they're not UL listed or something along those lines.

I second JonesBeach's comment.
Also would like to add that every day is a sale at Harbor Freight, and you'll find a certain selection of items at Black Friday-like prices any time you go into the store. Its the way the store works - every day is a sale-day strategy.
FWIW I used a harbor freight engine hoist and stand the other day. Worked fine. Not quality but did the job for cheap. Hand tools? well, there's a reason why they're so cheap. They bend or break if you look at them wrong. HF is good for one use only items, or seldom needed, just not durable, but prices that can't be beat.
For an engine hoist i'm gonna use twice probably, its fine and about the same as renting with less hassle.
Anyone familiar with the buy early and return day of sale for advertised price with this store ???

Bob,
I'm no expert, but I absolutely would NOT consider buying something as critical as a table saw from Harbor Frieght ! I suggest you will be very sorry if you do regardless of the price. I'm not saying this to trash HF. There are deals to be found there. But something like a table saw where repeatable precision and accuracy are essential, HF stuff just will NOT (no pun intended) cut-it !
I'm casually looking around for a table saw also. You don't want to go too cheap on something like this. I bought a cheap radial arm from a guy once. It even was a Craftsman, but it was one of their cheaper models. Nothing but headaches. Just an FYI.

I couldn't agree more. HF has some OK deals but most of what they sell is total junk not fit for the intended purpose. Most of what I bought from them has gone in the trash.
I bet that table saw has so much runout that it won't even cut straight.
However they do have good deals on spring clamps and carpenter pencils.

My rule: if it cuts or has a motor-get it somewhere else. having said that, some of their motorized or cutting tools have served me well. mainly, you can't use their power tools if you do anything heavy duty or you need it to be light or accurate. although i have several dewalt cordless drills, i still use my $14.99 18v i got from harbor freight. it's just too cheap not to buy. the rest of their stuff-wire ties, tape, gloves, clamps, measuring tools, moving blankets, bungees, foam brushes, ect. are good enough for most jobs and can generrally be had for next to nothing. so, buy your table saws, jointers and drill presses somewhere else. but stock up on everything else. where are you gonna find buck type folding razor knives for 2/$5?
