I only buy from them usually. I have had really great experiences. Everything comes in a timely manner. The shipping is free, and affordable for upgraded options. I just got a bunch of dvds during their 5.99, buy 2 get 1 free sale also. |

Pros: Cheap, large selection, decent customer service Cons: Delivery is a bit slow (it's done via USPS), sales usually cause major backorder issues, and now, price-raising before the sale. |

Wow, I ordered Smallville - Third Season for $29.99 just last week and it was back-ordered. I was going to call and cancel to reorder tomorrow, but guess what? It's now $43.19.
Go figure... |

Haha...I noticed that too!! I was hoping there would be a sale (and had planned on getting it for my girlfriend). I have really liked DDD, but switching the prices before a sale is technically ILLEGAL and VERY CHEAP of them. I'm going to think twice before buying from them again.
ehh... illegal? Yep, it is illegal. It's called improperly using comparative pricing in advertising, and it's the same thing that KB Toys got nailed with two years ago. |

let them continue price hike it up just before their sales. It's their business, and soon, they'll lose more loyal customers period. Why even give out 20% and then hike up the price more than 20%. That's just bad business practice. Either keep it at the everyday low price, or don't even bother hiking it up and give out 20%.

I had already emailed them about my previous post (in which I stated that the sex and the city dvd set went from $167 to $191) however, I just checked their site again and it WENT UP to $224!!
THEY RAISED THE PRICE TWICE IN ONE DAY--MORE THAN $55 TOTAL!!!
Anyone want to investigate how we can go after them legally? I mean I thought of them as a good company before today, but what they are doing (raising their prices all-around to compensate for a 20% off deal starting tomorrow) is UNBELIEVABLY deceptive and CLEARLY illegal.
And everyone (like me) who used to buy DVDs from them as holiday presents should email them telling them we can't believe they would try and screw us like this!
At least that's my two cents... |

Something to keep in mind, one form of deception often leads to others. Caveat Emptor... let the buyer beware! |

if KBToys was nailed on it a couple years back, i bet if you reported DDD they will get nailed on it as well. class action lawsuit grounds right there. |

Their kids movies prices seem to have stayed the same....Kick butt price for the Oswald 2 disc set @ $11.95. Also quite a few Dora DVDs.
BTW, Oswald seems to have gone off the air permanently so if you want to see it, DVD might be the only way. |

DDD responded in post claiming most price increases were due to site errors (hmmmm) reply1 reply2
The sale has started and the codes are (from DVDTalk, only DD11 is verified as of this post): DD11 DVDSALE DVDTALK ESPN SUPERSALE USWEEKLY USATODAY |

Some of you have lost your minds. DDD can sell anything they have for how ever much they want. You can't sue or legally force them to sell you something at the price you think you should be giving for it. Prices change everyday. Come on people... |

Both these box sets are released Tues 11/15, so you'd have to wait until then to order as I don't believe the 20% off is good on pre-orders- somebody correct me if I'm wrong. You should be able to get the discount for pre-orders... you could the last few times around. |

Corey, Your statement is very logical, however, we have laws that prevent this type of activity. I do not know the exact purpose of the law. It may be for bait and switch, or it may be in place to protect other retailers from losing business to advertising shams.
