SEX & THE CITY-COMPLETE SERIES jumped from 165 to 190. thats nicely just about 20%

Thanks for the HU.
I'll start revising my wishlist today.
Why do they do this to us before christmas? I will have nothing left for others. guess I'll be re-gifting again this year...

Yep, they always do that. Many items (especially anything remotely popular) will have its price jacked up before the sale starts. I'd rather they just leave everything the same and offer a lesser discount instead of playing these kind of pricing games.

Northern Exposure parka pack is $83.06 today, already a good deal. I'll wait and see if the price goes up tomorrow.

Save some serious time tommorrow...

As you`ll be moving mighty SLW getting things in your CART if your lucky enough to that without crashing!!!I had to wait till 3:00am last time on stupid dial-up just to get an order thru..

The sale will be more than a week long. There is no need to rush in at the first day or tow.

Haha...I noticed that too!! I was hoping there would be a sale (and had planned on getting it for my girlfriend). I have really liked DDD, but switching the prices before a sale is technically ILLEGAL and VERY CHEAP of them. I'm going to think twice before buying from them again.

As has been mentioned here already they tend to raise prices on some stuff before the sale, so be sure to use DVD Price Search to make sure you're not getting taken on the stuff you buy.

OMG yess i can finaly get my WWE wrestlemania anthology collection its $157.18 now after discount it will only be $125.74....hopefully they dont raise the price tomorrow

The coupon code DD11 is not working for me, the price is not change. Is this code only work on Nov. 11-19?

Someone said in another thread they said 11/11 over there just to shut up the "when is it" questions. I'm hoping for it, but who knows when it'll really start?

I tried to set up some good buys, I emailed them about price matching last week and they didn't hesitate, but said it would have to be over the phone and only for me, they wouldn't change the price on the site.

Nip/Tuck Season One just went from $17.38 to $43.18. That's NOT coincidence, that's more than a slight increase. Amazon has it for $19.97, but DDD is still listed on DVDPriceSearch as $22.85. That stinks!

This sale always hits my wallet hard.

Yes, it starts Nov. 11th as the original post indicated.

I ordered from them many times before, but now for some reason the coupon input box is not showing up for me anymore. Anybody else got this problem?

Same thing for West Wing season 1 & 2, up to $43 ish from I think 19.99 and the office complete collection (i think was around 34 ish recently?? is up to 43 also.) Time to check dvdpricesearch to check recent prices before commiting to box sets.

Good call on The Office, that was in the middle of my wishlist and I didn't notice it. Even with the discount, they'll make a ton off me! I have all Curbs, Arrested Dev., Sopranos, and other TV series ready to go.

We'll see if they reply to my email. It's blatant price manipulation, and I told them my $800 wishlist (plus more, we always find more..) and five year order history depend on their reply. I've purchased 250 DVDs this year alone, I won't give a company my business if they pull this kind of crap. Will it change anything? Probably not, they can do what they want. But if $25 is worth losing a customer, I'll leave that decision up to them.

This price jacking is ridiculous -- everything I was planning to buy has been increased 20%.

I think if they only raised the price on some popular stuff that they are already selling at a really great price, it wouldnt be a big deal... (so that they 20% off sale price equals their old price). But on some sets they are over doubling the price, and that's not ok.

Especially on some S1 & S2 sets... the distributors must have has some sale/price drop on those lately because a lot of places have them for $20 and under, and DDD is hiking up the price over 100%.

I love regifting!

~sigh~
looks like they're going the way of de11/nevvegg. They reach the top and start ripping off the people who put them there.

Seems like new(er) releases it'd be hard for them to increase the price by 20% as it would drive away business of people w/o the coupon.

Lets hope it works on pre orders

24 Season 4 - $ 45.xx less $9.xx plus free shipping = 36.xx -- would be a great deal -- Hope coupon is valid for pre orders

It never works on pre-orders, but it does work on backordered items.

thanks, i'll be getting some stuff tomorrow, but will definitely be crosschecking with other sites to see if it's actually a good deal or not.

will DDD pricematch before the coupon?

price raising is shady...
thats a real shame, i used to have a really good opinoin of DDD

20% off umd movies would rock.

Heard a few bad stories about Deep Discount DVD, but have yet had any personal experience with them. Anyone want to share positive and negative shopping experiences with them? Thanks.

another year!

I had checked DDD about a week or so for a bunch of DVDs and remembered FW talking about the 20% discount in November. So, I decided to wait. The price of Smallville season 4 went from $26.xx to $43.xx, much more than 20%. I will re-check the other DVDs that we had planned on buying and see if we do so or not...

I bought the 2004 WS box set for $64 a month ago.
It is $77.97 now.
Boo!

If you are an informed buyer, you should already know that DDD doesn't have the best customer service or on time delivery. But they do have great prices. Maybe you should have read some reviews before buying from them. If you had, you would have expected this instead of complaining.
