onion said:More info on the $450 Toshiba L25-S1193 laptop.

It has the same crappy low-capacity 4-cell battery as the one at BB.

It DOES have the TruBrite screen which is a plus and it does have a larger 60gb hard drive as opposed to the BB L25-S1192 laptop.

So for $70 more than the BB laptop you get the better TruBrite screen and a larger harddrive. Other than that its the exact same unit.

Unfortunately it still uses the 4-cell battery. Oh well...

crap...the BB Toshiba doesn't have trubrite? that sucks big time. gotta hate how they downgrade these computers on bf.

Yes, The BB laptop does not have the TruBrite.

BB's laptop has 256mb memory. We have 512mb for CC. That's a plus too. For $70 more, you get three more featues, it is great deal. We should always get a better hard drive, since it is not that easy to upgrade like memory, unless you throw out the old one and buy a new one.

CompUSA has a 19" LCD for $129.99 AR/gc on BF.

If you are talking about AOL GC, I can use that for anything I want, why to deduct that from LCD price?

with the 70 extra bucks you also get 512mb RAM instead of 256mb. Absolutely worth it!

the 42 in Phillips is HD ready monitor, not HDTV. 1799? thats insane for a phillips. i will go see how it looks though.

they have a 19 in lcd monitor for 149 so that beats the MAG BB has for 169. i wonder what brand it is and some specs.

Its a 17" for $149 not 19"

Note that the Toshiba laptop has only a 90 day warranty. Same goes for the one at BB as well. No these are not refurbs.

DV tapes are good.

Laptop at CircuitCity is by far the best

The presence of DDR2 means the memory will be a very cheap upgrade
It also means the processor will be a free upgrade for the adventurous few who are willing to open up the laptop.

Now I am not sure about the RAM. Just came back from my local CC, and the one they had only had 256mb RAM, and the price is $749.99.

Pretty solid reviews on this model.

whats the model#?

I'm sure it is this one (42PF7320A):

Linky

They also sell a more expensive version but the main difference is the ambient feature which everyone seems to think is pretty much useless.

I am not that high on many Philips tvs, and while this one may not rank at the very top, it at least performs in the middle of the pack if not above, definitely better than budget model quality.

True, I meant to say lcd tvs, the syntax deals are a joke compared to sales going on now.
