AOL? All you got to do is call them. If you're worried about them not cancelling make sure to get the rep ID number of the person you spoke with. Simple. I do AOL promos all the time. Your other statement is way too general to take into consideration. Laptops dont break on their own you know. |

mmm.. i don't agree with youyeah they do break!!! depending on how much wear and tear you give... if you are just doing basic ms office.. maybe not... but, if you doing some hardcore comp usage.. yes it does... sorry to tell you but, go take some VLSI coures.. you will see how much heat damages your pc!!! when heat gets involved and some hardcore IO usage... trust me.. it wil crash... also on the note, talking about AOL.. just do some google search and BBB.. . you will see how many people are angry with AOL. also, talking about AOL promos all the time.. dang dude.. you need to come to 21 century HIGH SPEED internet!!! lol.. if you think "'Laptops dont break on their own you know...' and its so true"..lol.. tell me why do people go for thinkpad or sony(still not good as thinkpad)... it depnds on how they arch their laptop design. get it straight bro or sis, whoever you are!!

what do you think about: Circuit City The laptop is NOT $199 its $450 or MAYBE $380<--will explain later Toshiba L25-S1193 Celeron M 1.5ghz 15" XGA TruBrite Screen 512mb DDR2 ram 60gb drive (5400rpm) Graphics Card ATI RADEON® XPRESS 200M Wifi Half-capacity 4-cell battery (1-1.5 max hour life) 1 year warranty
The laptop is $199.99 ONLY after you signup for 12 months of AOL at $24/month. Its $449.99 otherwise. If you want to signup for 12 months of AOL dialup at 24/month the total cost of laptop + AOL will be $488. Here is how you MAYBE able to get it for $380. The laptop is advertised for $450 and you can get $250 off if you sign up for 12 months of AOL. Signup for 12 months of the $15/month AOL for Broad Band plan which will cost you $180 for the year. SO..$450 - $250 AOL sign up + $180 actual cost of the $15/month plan = $380

A Celeron M 1.5ghz will smoke your friends 2.8ghz northwood cored Celeron. Hard to believe but its true. Not only are the celeron Ms so much more efficent in performance they, they only consume 1/3rd the power of the old celerons. 21 watts ve your frinds 60+ watt celeron. In reality your friends 2.8ghz celeron is a desktop CPU. Again hard to believe but true. Remember the Toshiba celeron 2.8ghz laptop fiasco?
too true! My wife has a 2.8Ghz Tosiba lappie, and the battery life sucks!!! She tried to take it on a road trip to watch a movie, and it got an hour through it before it died! My Toshiba (a BF unit from BB last year) has a 1.5Ghz Celeron M, and I get almost 3 hours out of it. Plus, it feels a lot faster than hers. Celeron M is a good CPU. |

Questions about the AOL deal
1) I assume you cannot cancel the AOL, is this correct? 2) Do you have to sign up in store, or do you get a URL or Voucher to do online? 3) If you do have to sign up in store, do you have to pay $288 up front?
I'm thinking of finding an AOL member to split this with. They get AOL for $144 a year, and my laptop is $350 |

You can cancel the AOL the next day if you want but you'll still pay for the full 12 months according to the terms. |

maasenstodt said:Myself, I'll be picking up the Wal-Mart model, then immediately upping the memory to 1GB and adding a 7200rpm HDD, which will cost about $250. Those additions will make it far faster than either of the other laptops, and faster than any laptop that you could buy from a store at that price point. I'll also have the ability to upgrade the CPU to a higher end Turion64 down the road, and for much less than it would cost for an equivilant Pentium M. Doing so right now would cost about $250 for the top of the line MT40, making the total cost of the unit about $900. But that laptop would be about as fast as you could get right now outside of video performance, and for a price way below what you'd pay for a stock unit with comperable specs.
Money. I'm getting a laptop for my sister and this is exactly what I plan to do as well. Oh, and good looking out Onion. |

Hmm, that would be fine. If you can sign up for the $15/mo plan and cancel next day and pay $180 making the laptop $380, that's easy enough. It all hinges on that $15/mo plan being available. |

Yeah, so might as well just keep it around as a backup. RoadRunner provides dial-up service for outages or while traveling - but extra email addresses through AOL sounds good. Some websites (the last I can remember is a forum I was trying to register for) do not accept web-based email addresses like Hotmail and Yahoo! so that's another perk. |

BlackFridayAds.com says that OD will have the ze2308wm for $398 as well, but no other place seems to have this information. I assume this is a mistake. Isn't the wm suffix a Wal-Mart exclusive? |

Your best bet (IMO) if you can sign up for the $180 plan is to try and sell it for $90-100 flat up front.
Even if you have to pay for it, it's like no interest financing the $180.
Either way if you can buy the 15/mo plan I'm so there. |

I believe the Circuit City laptop is online only. If so, does anyone know what time it will go on sale on the cc website? |
