Worked for me as well! The lady at the first phone number would not honor the promo code but the lady at the second number did! Weird but anyhow my radio is activated! I've had this brand new Delphi xm2go sitting in my closet since last October 2005 that I've been wanting to activate for the longest now and when I saw this deal I jumped at it! Thanks OP!!!!!!!!!! |

Can someone explain to me how this works?
I recently bought a Roady XT for $30 on eBay and I am going to install it this weekend.
When I call to activate service should I use the free activation and 3 free montsh code and then call back after the 3 months for the $77 a year deal?
Or do you get one and not the other?
I want to get the $77 for a year deal but if I can get 3 free months that would be great! |

Sweet, thanks people, I'm going to use it after getting a radio on my BF run.
Didn't come up with anything with a search, but but is there anything like this for Sirius as well (mainly like the free month ones) |

BTW - I just got a brand new XT Roady off eBay for $30 shipped.
If you go on eBay during wierd hours when no one is on you can get some good deals. |

Just wanted to let everyone know I activated my XM Roady XT today.
I am amazed at the content of the stations! I don't think I will ever listen to regular radio again. The only thing is that because I am using the plug and play method it is hard finding a frequency to use and I'm sure it would sound better if it was hard-wired. (My dad has XM built into his car and it sounds better but I can't complain for plug and play).
I'm sure there are better recievers than the Roady XT but I like it and it was cheap.
I ended up asking the rep on the phone for the half off for a year deal and he gave it to me without even needing the code!
Thanks guys for helping me get beyond "terrestrial" radio. |

Before getting on here, I had called XM to try to activate the radio in the used SUV that I just bought. I was asking for a trial period to see if I liked it. After a very long conversation with the semi-english speaking lady and her supervisor, there was not trial available not even for 3 days.
I used the 800 number posted here and the OEM promo code, and now have a 3 month trial with no activation fee. Exactly what I was looking for. I think I like it and will probably subscribe after the trial.
Thanks Fat Wallet! |

I got a used Roady 2 off eBay for 99 cents. I plugged it in just to see if it would power up, and it went directly to a station. The previous owner must have signed up for a new account when he got his new car radio. I'll use it til it expires, and then try to get in on the 77/year deal. Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus! |

XM-4 (XM radio's 4th satellite) is now in the sky and communicating with the ground!!!
This means now that XM will have two satellites (XM-3 and XM-4) that will broadcast and two backups (XM-1 and XM-2)
They are retiring XM1 and XM2 since they are the ones they were using from the start but have enough power to use for many years as a backup to the new ones.
This is great news for anyone with XM since the new satellites are much better than the older ones were. |

I am so happy - I used the OEM Code earlier in the year and called back and they extended it for an additional 3 months when I was going to cancel the service - They wanted me to really give it a try. Well I just got my bill in the mail this week for $40 including tax and service fee for paper.
Well I called telling them I want to get the 1 year service - Told me it was 144 I stated I got a paper for $77 He then transfered me to a true English speaking person - She was extremely helpful.
She asked me about the paper I got asking the color - I told her it was Yellow. She said OK and said she would send me out a new bill for the new ammount.
Since I didn't pay yet for this month - I have an additional $10 on it (Prorated) and $77 for the 1 year subscription.
As I have never given them my CC they will not auto renew it and I call next year and try to get a good deal again.
Thanks FatWallet - I saved a bundle on this.
I wonder how many Thousands of Dollars they lose due to sites like this - I know they are still making money and keeping a happy customer that sells this to everyone I get a chance to tell about XM to. I love demonstrating it.

My previous post explained how I got my TAO and $77.00 year deal.
This xmas, I was looking to get a (FREE) unit for a family member.
http://partners.xmradio.com
Access Key:
STARBUXM5 = Free Delphi RoadyXT or Free Audiovox Xpress with SureConnect
XMBBXM03 = Free AGT Sportscaster with SureConnect
There were discounts on the rest of the models, but I didn't want to pay for one. I went with the Delphi RoadyXT. It was a PC Magazine Editors Choice and I hadn't heard too many bad things about it.
It allowed me to click that I was already a member. I entered in my phone number and it gave me the family rate. I selected a 6 month contract to start with (you must go at least 6 months for free/discount units anyway). Activation was listed as $0.00 as well.
So I got the RoadyXT, free activiation, 1/2 year family plan ($41.94) + damn shipping ($10.something) for a around $54.00.
Next on my list is to call XM and renew for another $77.00... |

Thanks upstate. I did it just like you said and I have my 6 months sub. It was for my nephew and since I bought his Dad xm last year I used his phone number and got the family rate. Now I have to make sure they take it off my credit card after the first 6 months. |

Love these codes. I got the ZWINBACK yearly for the hubby. When she asked where I got it from, I played stupid and said my husband had some kind of paper and that I was trying to surprise him with the yearly for Christmas and couldn't ask for the paper without being caught. It worked great. |

Sammeedog - Great Idea - I will have to tell my friend to try that one - He is getting ready to do this as I did for mine.
I love XM radio and at 6.42 a month or .21 cents a day or just under 1 penny an hour. LOL |

FYI: Remember your activation anniversary! They will auto-renew your account at the normal subscription price UNLESS you call to cancel or re-order with a new promo.
After a year of service, I'm cancelling my XM radio because of the commercials. I don't need to pay for radio service AND be forced to listen to comercial after commercial too. |

I don't know what commercials you are referring to. I get 68 commercial free music channels.
If you are talking about the talk channels than why would get satellite radio to listen to talk?
Yes there are about 5 variety channels that include music, commericals and talk but XM doesn't consider them part of the 68 commercial free.
You should cancel, it will free up some bandwith for me! |
