Please excuse my venting: This general Costco thread lists 30+ items. This other thread here talks specifically about the "WD Passport 80GB USB drive $26 off ($103.99 total) Item 892506." Why are the mods so anal about locking the other thread when all it does is narrow attention from 30 items to one? Not really a repost in the traditional sense.

My guess is that they have to interpret the rules strictly and technically. By strict definitions, that thread was a repost. Logically/sensibly, though, the real discussion going on in that thread about that item was much more valuable than the chit-chat going on in here. I was following the discussion in that thread, and was surprised to find out when randomly browsing a few minutes ago that it was locked, which explains why I haven't been getting email alerts from the good discussion going on.
It took a lot of bugging the mods and a "moderators meeting" before they even allowed Costco's coupons (passport, and weekly) to be included in the Hot Deals forum vs. the deal discussion forum.
