Lol. There's a even better reason not to pricematch for Staples.com. Since you don't know it, it's probably beyond you.

i think you know too much for your own good. so keep LOLing with your reasons to have not paid a lower price. you have the rest of your life to justify those reasons now that its over

I guess.

so true. i expect a 15% jump in profits this quarter from the double dipping that Staples just did !

I hate to say this... but i don't even bother trying to read your posts... trying to read your post takes the same amount of time to read the entire thread

Can you even begin to imagine how long it must take him to actually write them? Waay too much time on your hands lad.. then again, what else do you have do when you're a snot-nosed, pimply 13 year old living in the attic other than being faux 'l33t'?

What about coupons with multiple items? Will Staples do the same thing like OD to proportionally distribute the coupon?

As i expected, you have completely missed the point. all you can think of is how much money you made from FW deals? it may sound ironic, but, poor you

just kidding. all i was saying was that, probably, most FW'rs are guilty of enjoying the sadistic pleasure radiated from the growing stockpile of dust-gathering printers of almost all possible varieties known to mankind. thats all. it had absolutely nothing to with money-making.

I just find it funny you think that. Getting that almost free or free + cash printer isn't going to make me much money when this year I've made over 1k on those HP 1320 printers. So you keep with your wonderful pricematched savings from Staples every year and I'll be just fine and dandy.

Finally the policy is changed. How about the poliy of rebate then? Does Staples mention if PM will invalidate rebates, like BB?

Staples pm has been a mystery to me, i started to do the pm stuff about 3 weeks ago, so far i've bought a couple of laser printers and they even paid me for doing that. my only explanation was that since they were doing so good, they just didn't care. now since i turned out to be wrong, i have to say: shame on whoever pmed more than I did :DDD

They must be bleeding money - they will probably try a ton more stuff like this until they crumble - I agree with the OfficeMax comment - but I am sure we will probably see many more of these situations in the next couple of years, you just have to follow the money. Keep switching retail categories and you will always get free stuff or get paid to take stuff.

The comments about New York and Flushing are pig-headed. I live in Queens and pricematch just like everyone else, it's no "harder" here then anywhere else. If you lived in Alaska you might have a point.

I am guessing that the thing that finally sent them over the edge was the last batch of laser printers, how they sold out in four minutes, and then not only recieved most of them back to retail locations causing a huge expense in the supply chain, but then how the rebate house overpaid rebates. I would not be surprised if the last laser printer deal alone cost Staples over a million dollars.

The irony here is that CompUSA is now "cheap".

apparently Staples's "new" policy makes much more sense to me, bb is just simply M~~~E~~~A~~~N~~~

there go those fun memory and printer deals with multiple coupons and rebates. Lets see how good they are at tracking their previous rebates and such if you PM the week after

Bad move on Staples part. The amount of money that they will save by eliminating this segment of "PM abuse" is less than the amount of money they will lose on products they wan't to get rid of badly. More overstock = more clearance.

Their old policy was kind of nuts. I am glad they had it, but it really was crazy that they had it.

alert mods

Can't say I didn't warn you. Oh well.

alert mods

but how long has the "old" policy been? how come it took them years (i assumed) to figure that out? i heard ppl talking about 1350w deals for several times before i actually bought one last month. still don't get why this time was so special.

Staples easy rebates still make it the place to shop and on Black Friday it allowed me to sleep in. I really do think Staples does a lot to deserve a good reputation. I took advantage for a long time and don't begrudge them anything.

is this new too?

We don¡¯t match our store prices to those on other companies¡¯ web sites.

no. that just means that their store locations only PM other stores. the website still PM's other websites.

This has been a horrible month for me as a FW'er.
Stalpes kills the rebate PM's and Sti has started charging 10c/day on my FAR phones (also added 100min/month stipulation on rebate).
Guess all that is left is to hope for alot of FAR items and coupons.

Pm'ing with coupons alway made me feel a bit dirty.
