I havent seen any information on how long each Dealpass gift card lasts. So, I thought I would start a thread to help collect that information. I think cards can't expire in CA, or at least that is what many say. Here is what I know so far:
- Amazon: Fully expires in 2 years. Usually it takes about 2 weeks to get it, so you have 102 weeks to spend it.
- Barnes & Noble: No expiration date. Only one gift card per online order. Card Terms Check Balance
- Bath & Body Works: No expiration. Call 1-800-640-6052 for balance. Use online or B&M.
- Circuit City: No expiration or service fees. Only FOUR cards/order. You can, however, go into the store and have them combine the cards. I have done this and had no problems. Check Balance
- JCPenney: No Expiration - can use B&M, online, and over phone. Info Link Check Balance
- Kohls: After 24 months, $1.50/month off balance. Can use online or B&M. Check Balance
- Shell: After 12 months $1.75/month fee. Card Terms
- Staples: GOOD ONLY IN STORE!!! There are no expiration date or service fees. Info
- Target: No Expiration or fees. Can use online or B&M. Only FOUR cards/order, but they will combine them in store for you. I didnt have any problems. Check Balance.
Thats all I have for now. Please post here if you know conditions of other cards and I will update above.
*** UPDATE 3/04 - Formatting CA rule. *** UPDATE 3/16 - Circuit City, Staples, and added links on dealpass discussions. *** UPDATE 4/17 - Bed Bath and Beyond
Edit by Moderator: NO PERSONAL REFERRAL LINKS, LINK BEGGING, OR SPAMMING REFERRALS VIA PRIVATE MESSAGES.
There has been a problem with Dealpass threads and rampant referral spam. PLEASE do not post or discuss Freeanything.com links. We do not allow discussion of or links to conga, pyramid, gambling, or like-minded rewards sites.
We are giving Dealpass discussions a final chance because we believe that there is valuable information to be shared. If this is abused we will lock all Dealpass threads and disallow any future discussions. What can you do to prevent this from happening here? By behaving. NO PERSONAL REFERRAL LINKS!

you are right. But most of us here are not in these few states.

Who do you guys care the exp date?
Take Shell as an example: $1.75 monthly fee after 12 months none use. So what? Use it at the 11th month (spend $1), then you will get another 12 months without being charged any fee.
Or buy a new gift card at local store using your old gift cards if allowed. (e.g. Toys R Us)
atohmc - Yes, it's based on where the cards are purchased.
Unless the dealpass info mentioned that the GC's have a fee after a certain period of time - and I don't remember seeing that info - I'm assuming that there's no inactivity fee.
Can a current dealpass member please check the TOS and see if this is mentioned?

^. New cowhead? Nice. TOS doesn't mention expiration date specifically beyond reiterating the usual legal stuff found on the cards. Even here in Cali to cards sold here claim inactivity fees 'unless where prohibited'.
Dealpass comes up so many times, yet I haven't found a thread with conise information on how to take advantage of (like what kind of membership so that we can order these cards, and how much % of savings you get in each store). Can anyone point to such a thread, if it exists? Thanks.
RightHere said: haridsv - the link to the discussion on Dealpass is in the OP! "concise" might be a problem, but that's the best link you're gonna get.
Thanks, I didn't see the link, thought they were one of the store links (like for Target) and didn't pay attention.
