Got this info from following website, try it at your own risk: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=544246&page=1&pp=15 Also saw people selling this info on eBay.
Hey! I thought I'd share with my fellow FTers this coupon that I bought from eBay. With the coupon you get a membership at the site for $9.99 a year instead of $9.99 a month. Once a member, you can buy your prepaid gas cards at 15% off. Shipping is $1.50 for orders less than $1000, free for $1000 and more. They have cards for Arco, BP/Amoco, Chevron, Citgo, Exxon/Mobil, Shell, Speedway/SuperAmerica, and Sunoco with denominations ranging from $50 to $200. The only limit to how much you can buy (that I can see) is $2000 per order. I bought from them twice, and besides the fact that it takes 3 weeks to get the cards, it's a great service.
Update: I just noticed that the Marathon cards come with a $2 bonus for each $50 ordered. So you end up saving close to 20%. Too bad, the closest Marathon station to me is 30 miles away.

We've got a discussion going over at Deal Discussion about this but it's completely up to the mod's how they want to handle it.

I found this on the website I mentioned and then bought my membership. I haven't bought any gas card from them yet since it takes time for them to activate my membership. The original poster said "I bought from them twice, and besides the fact that it takes 3 weeks to get the cards, it's a great service." Not me. that's why I said "try it at your own risk"

I checked something... site only allows you to enter the promo code at the same time you enter your CC info. So you cannot be sure of any discount until _AFTER_ you have allowed them to charge your card.
OP mentions the promo code allows the $10/month charge to be good for 1 year. Does this mean you select the 1 months from the drop down window and it's extended a year or you select 1 year from the drop down window and the $110 charge changes to $10? Seems like a BIG risk!
Not "HOT" until tested. If your not willing to do it yourself don't look for lab rats.

You select the one year membership and then apply the coupon. I saw my total before confirming my entire order.
I have placed an order with them, my card has been charged and now I'm just waiting for my cards. I ordered on 4/14 (Friday) so it's only been a short time.

Seems too good to be true, which leads me to believe it is. Probably a Ponzi scheme, where a bunch of earlier people will get their cards and tell everyone how great the program is. The program gets bigger and bigger. Then one day it's all over and the latest purchasers get...nothing...

Yep.. this sounds like an awesome scam... playing on peoples fears of gas prices...
Is there a TELEPHONE NUMBER TO CALL?? I would definitely want to talk to someone before I ever gave them my money... 15% is a big discount on something like this and at 15% that would mean they would need to be buying them for at least 20% off to even make it worth their time...

They have an Arco Pump Pass that you use at the Arco Quick Pay terminals. Does that cost you a 35 cent fee like it does with ATM cards?

Sold out? That seems like a good sign.. If it was a scam then they would never ever be sold out... hmm?
Just a thought ... if (like me) you have a credit card that offers a 1% "rebate" on purchases but a 5% rebate on gas, your net savings is only 11% from this site (not 15%) before the annual fees and shipping. Still an improvement, but not as much as you might think.
Thanks OP.

It's all about bulk..... + the normal membership fee is $110/per year. So even if they made nothing off the membership cards, they're making plenty of money.

i couldnt find one, and a google search of ediscountgascards turns up barely any results...no reviews on resellerratings, or anything...seems like this place just started up
and it seems weird if this was a legit company why they would register anonymously with GoDaddy, and only pay for the first year of the domain name, rather than 3 or 5....i know they can renew it, but you'd think a new business that knows it would be very popular would register for a little longer than the minimum

which is the exact thing someone who is scamming you would want to think
not saying that this is a scam or not, but all things considered, this just looks really shady

Not very related but no new business really 'knows' it would be very popular. Maybe they didnt want to pay for something they may not need. Minimizing costs for a new business. Not saying thats the reason in this case but the expiry alone doesn't determine much.

you think a business that sells gas cards for 15% off would think "hey, this isnt something people would really want or use"?

Since some have had their CREDIT cards charged, is there any additional information showing on the CREDIT card transaction online? Like phone, name of company that actually charged, etc.
Just signed up and keeping fingers crossed. Even if I get one $100 gas card, membership fee is paid off. If I don't get the gift card, I can always dispute with mastercard.

Unless is signiciantly cheaper to register longer, there isn't much of a reason to.

Get the larger denomination cards. If these are like a previous gift cards I've rec'd (for applying for a cc), they're a pain to use once your remaining balance is lower than ~$40. Makes you go inside to pay since you can't pre-select your purchase $ amount outside at the pump.

Yeah, and we all know how useful paying with a credit card was when Cyberrebates went belly up...As they say, "fools and their money..." and, oh, something by PT Barnum.

You swipe your card at the pump and the gas dispenses until your balance is used up. I prefer cards with larger denominations, simply to reduce the number of cards that I carry, but finishing of a card is no problem. Have used: Shell, Exxon, Mobil
I used EVG to buy Safeway/Vons gift cards, then used those at the store to get the Shell Oil gift cards.
I cancelled with them a while ago because I maxed out on gift cards but EVG is 100% legit, allowed a trial when I joined, and is straight $20 for $25 gift cards.
I don't think their website is hosted by GoDaddy and expires in 2 months, lol.

Not always true. Most pumps do a "pre-auth" of the card. I've seen instances where they can vary from a $10 pre-auth to $100. The norm semms to be about $50 these days.

also interesting to note (and i didnt find this out til I ordered) that gas cards take 2-3 weeks to ship...seems a little excessive?

actually pre-auths are for credit cards
when you use a gas card/gift card, the authorization is tied directly into your account balance, so rather than authorizing it for a certain amount, it simply reads the amount available on the card from a database, and cuts you off once your card balace hits 0

I have not given them a dime. I suggest no one else either.
Does anyone know a legitimate site to buy gift cards at a discount?
