For free huh?....i never heard of AAA offering free notaries.....notaries are a bad topic here...even if its a joke....."quoted for preservation"....blah blah..

Thanks, i'll check with my bank....
actually i heard that they charge $10/ notary and i ahve 3-4 papers to notarize.
If banks charge $1, it is Very good <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border=0>

Since you are in bay area, try this service:

Notary

I've used them couple of times and they charge only $5 per signature.

I had it done for free from my bank(Fleet bank) when I was in Boston. I asked my credit union(Provident CU in bay area)but they'll only notarize documents related to the bank. So finally I ended up finding one at my work place and had it done for $10.
So check with your bank if they do it....

BOA does it for free, but you cannot get all documents notarized. Certain documents they don't notarize. I forgot which ones, but definetely not wills.

I had it done at my workplace, and they didn't charge me anything. Check around your work to find a notary on staff. Most companies have one.

WaMu does it for free. isn't there a thread on this topic some where?

Most credit unions in Texas do it for free. Some banks do it for free or very low fee (lower than may be charged) -- check somewhere that you have an account or likely will be full-fee.

Law offices usually make their secretaries or paralegals notaries. Have an "in" there?

Go to any school you have been to. Ask for staff that do notary.

I work for Wells Fargo, and we do it free for any account holders. The only thing is, we cannot notarize anything that's going to be recorded in court(legal ramifications, i guess).

Wherever you are employed (if you are) try talking to a senior officer's secretary he/she should be able to guide you.

Become a Notary yourself.

most banks will do it free if you are a good customer

Wachovia does it free.

BOA does it for free before if you are an Advantage member, but not anymore...that is in vegas. We had our at the USPS for $5.

Go to the bank you do business with; they'll do it. Your local bank can also do the Medallion stamp at no charge.

You can't do a notary on a document that you are a signer on(you can't notarize your own signature).

Thanks a lot for your replies,

My wells fargo bank does it free.

If you are senior, many senior facilities will do it for free, but certain days in month.

I just bought a notary stamp from a thrift store.

If your bank won't do it for cheap or free, most places that do pack and ship have a notary. They charge $2-4 in my experience.

And you are suggesting committing notary fraud?

Try WACHOVIA, It's free. And there is not limit on the number of pages. One time I did 50 pages and it took 2 hrs for that poor guy.
