No it is just an edtv monitor ... no tuners ... if you have a hd cable/sat box, then it will be fine .. it is the cheapest price for a plasma that i have ever seen by atleast $300 ... |

No tuner. EDTV. You decide if its a good deal. Link contains specifications from manufacturer.
Ooops... I'm a bit late in replying.

What kind of picture quality will I get from my DirecTivo receiver through S-video out? Will I be disappointed? I currently have a 36" Wega that is ~6 y/o and still works great. Is this display capable of HD resolution with an appropriate input?
Sorry for asking many questions, I am a TV n00b. |

Toshiba DLP projector - BB - 399.99 Optoma DV10 DLP projector - CC - 449.99
They are pretty comparable quality and resolution wise. The major difference between the two is the BB Toshiba projector is 4:3 standard, whereas the CC Optoma is 16:9 widescreen.
The projector from BB looks to be the Toshiba TDP-S8U. It is 800x600 SVGA resolution, 1800 lumens, and 2000:1 contrast ratio. You can find the specificationshere. Retails for about $750.
The projector from CC is the Optoma DV-10 Movietime. It is 854x480 WVGA resolution, 1000 lumens, and 4000:1 contrast ratio. You can find the specifications here. Retails for about $1000.
I'll update this if I find any more information out on the other projectors available. Hope this helps any of you that were looking into one of these. |

I am planning to the Westinghouse 32" from Bestbuy, personally I think it looks better than the Olevia one from the website. I haven't actually been to the stores so can anyone comment on how their looks. Also, should I buy the Olevia one from CC cause I can get 10% off coupon from fleabay and 20% off giftcards from Dealpass, which will lower the cost to $360. The Olevia one seems like a better deal but I care about the look more than the price, so if the Westinghouse one really looks better, I will rather have the Westinghouse one.
Thanks! |

I know this is a stupid question, but I just want to clarify this. Can we use the 10% off coupon for the 32" LCD at CC? TIA |

look in this thread for a few of my comments and those of another user ... http://www.fatwallet.com/t/24/670083/
i found out that most of the internals of THAT tv were made by LG ... so i was happy to buy it ... since then, no problems, other than the pathetic remote ... HD quality is good (to my eyes) - i use the built-in tuner to pick up OTA local HD channels ... SD tv quality is ok (using dish) ... no performance issues, it has worked fine and i do use it quite a lot ... i connect a laptop to it via vga (at 800x600) and it looks good at that res... i have the contrast and brightness at around 60% (less in the beginning) and so no burn-in issues ...
edit: i have heard that CS from viore is pretty poor, but no personal experience ... |

If your'e only going to watch TV and movies dont even think about buying any of the other projectors on sale. All those other units are designed more for buisness presentations and computer hookup.
Despite the numbers the Optoma DV-10 Movietime is a brighter unit to watch movies with and will give you a better picture compared to any of the other projectors on sale this BF. Plus it comes with a DVD player built in and 92" screen. Its a good deal!
Ive owned many projectors. |

Pac -- Typically its not the coupons that run out, its usually the TVs themselves. Everytime that i have needed a coupon they usually have them right at the front door. You should just ask for one. Also they provide rain checks. But YMMV about BF, since it will be my first at c0stco.
pac1687 said:Hi Shash, thanks for confirming that for me. Do you have any idea if Costco will still have those booklets to hand out by the 22nd? I am actually at school right now and we don't have a local Costco nearby so I can't secure a coupon booklet before I get back home. Does anybody know if Costco usually physically requires the coupons on Black Friday? I want to be sure that I'll at least have a chance at it before I get back home for Thanksgiving break. Or can anyone mail me the coupon book- I'd be willing to pay to have it sent to me. Or does Costco also send the coupon flyers in their e-mails? Any help is greatly appreciated,
Thanks! |

Looks like the 42" Haier at OD is another EDTV, not HD.

Does anyone have a list of which TVs have computer monitor ports? I noticed at least one that did, but lost track of which one.
Thanx |
