I'm interested in the following...
CC Acer AS5102WLMI, Turion64 X2 TL-50, 1gb, 120gb, dvdrw, XP-MCE, 15.4” ----------------- $599.99
STAPLE-S Toshiba A105-S4224, Core Duo T2050, 512mb, 100gb, dvdrw, XP-MCE, 15.4” ---------------- $699.98
What is their video card info? all integrated graphics? Does "integrated graphics" mean that they dont have a separate video card?
and does anyone have more details about these 2 laptops? such as: do they have bluetooth? which battery life is better?
Thank you!
Pretty much anything in this price point has crappy integrated graphics.
From the little i've seen the AND64 and the Intel core duo are pretty much comparable on all levels (battery, performance, etc), with the intel very slightly edging out the AMD. But AMD prices are better, and they are 64 capable. |

steevo said:I say the BEST is the Averatec at OM. Its the only lappy listed that is priced well below normal prices. All of the others are only incrementally cheaper than they would be on any given weekend "blowout sale". This laptop is as fully featured as can be expected even on a high end laptop. Good luck finding a 12.1" to match these features for less than 1200.
12.1" Dual core 12.1" 100GB Sata 1gb ddr2 dual layer dvdrw 12.1" nVidia Geforce video 4 pounds etc etc etc A true "High End" laptop challenger for 599.
I second that. I'm going for light/mobility. |

I agree with some of you that there is no good deal for a laptop based on the ads. I can get a 17" or 15" at Dell right now for $851/$848 just through the instant discounts and ecoupon from another site. Question: will Dell offer more discounts before christmas?
Here are the specs:

I don't think that taking the Dell E1505 vs. the Averatech for example is a fair comparison. The Dell starts off at 6.18 lbs. and the Averatech is about 4 lbs. I'm thinking about getting the Averatech but I'm wondering about its reliability. Has anyone had one for a while and would like to comment on it? |

Dell is has no better reliability than Averatec. Besides, neither company actually make the laptops they sell FYI. Both Dell and Averatec are just marketing companies that slap thier names on 3rd party designed/built laptops. |

I m vying for the BB HP DV6103 and OD HP DV6102, but I know these laptops have a backlight problem. I work at a service center, I receive a lot of the like-model in for service and particularly for backlight issue. It's very tempting for BB HP. I guess I'll try my luck. What time would be good to wait outside for doorbuster? |

Most coupons are YMMV depending on the cashier and manager's discretion. I'd rather go in with a coupon that may work or not, rather than none at all. So post it, and we'll let you know the results... |

Any BF laptop will do, the $599 OfficeMax would be sweet if she will take it to school/library and back to home alot.
The MS Works suite 2004, 2005 or 2006 would be nice instead of Office.
You used to get the 2004 on eBay for $20 but no more, but I think they now cost $45 http://www.viosoftware.com/Works+Suite/Works+Suite+2004+OEM |

the coupon he's talking about is in the holiday catalog for omax. There are stacks of them at any omax store, along with a $50 off any widescreen notebook coupon
they do say markdowns taken off regular prices only, so good luck getting them to apply it. Use it at another store for a better chance. |

if you remember the best buy Toshiba for 499 around august with the 100$ off coupon, some people got it to work and that coupon said discount taken from original price too, so it might be worth a try. |

How's Staples' $399 laptop compare to BB's? Staples's one has 64 bit capability and it is an high end CPU. and BB has core solo which is better in battery life and performance is about the same. This is not a crappy celeron M by the way. In my area, if you are not planning to camp out, you can forget about BB. |
