I was 2 hours before opening at my sf bay area best buy and I was too late... I was #32 and they had 28 yellow wii tickets distributed... the last person who got one got there at 6am (4 hours before store opening)... this is really annoying. The mountain view best buy had 40... congrats to people who got one... enjoy it and please use it instead of reselling it for a quick buck and making it harder for people who want to play to get one... |

Circuit City had these in stock for the past 4 days. I ordered mine on Wed. it arrived Friday. There was even that 5 dollars off 19.99 + free shipping. Couldn't avoid tax so total came out to 37.xx. Still cheaper than retail.

Best Buy out here in Valley Stream, NY got around 60. Got my lucky #23 and showed up one hour before. The guy in front of me did not want the wii so I got #22. No component cables. Didn't ask for the nunchucks or controlers. Have a bunch. Got Zelda and they had only 10 copies. |

If I had gotten there 10 minutes earlier (by accounts of the people in front of me) I would ahve been in. That hurts more than anything...when you know it was that close. |

BB in Beavercreek, Ohio got 50 in. I was there way late because I had the youngster. Apparently the line was thirty deep at 6am. |

It wasn't as much of a rush here. I went to BB in Atlanta GA about 45 minutes before the store opened and got one of the 42 they received. Though, there were a few people with lawn chairs and blankets that waited a lot longer. |

dandan123 said:I'm looking for a wii for my son, anyway to get it for less than 250 ??? There actually is, depending on how lucky you feel. There's the 12% off Rewards coupon that, AFAIK, no one has yet to try on a console (so that might work though it's unlikely). You have a better chance using a $40 off $199 at Circuit City, but that entails actually finding the unit in stock at CC... which is unlikely as well. You could sign up for a credit card at Microcenter and get $100 off the purchase of the Wii and a game, but again, no stock. Finally, you can try to get BB to honor the $40 off $199 CC coupon, but frankly, I have trouble getting them to honor their own policies as is.
I'm an avid deal hunter, but I paid full retail ($360 + tax) for a Wii, a game, and an extra controller. If you're worried that it's not worth the money, don't be -- to me, it's worth every penny I spent. |

AMEN to that, I got mine at midnight launch, I was very hesitant to drop $422 for system, 2 games and an extra controller, but it was worth every penny. well except for Tony Hawks "downhill jam" it kinda sucks, even though it was rated the best racing game... I think I'm going to eBay it... |

Just got another idea of how to stick it to TRU even if they do ring the bundle up all in one... Go buy one now, and as long as they don't take down the serial # you can buy another Wii at a later date and return it with the stupid games as a bundle. |

I lucked out and got one today at 12:45PM. I was near a Target and figured there was no point in even going in (what are the chances of having any in the middle of the day), but I did anyway. I lucked out...one Wii in the cabinet. Turns out it was a reshop. That generally means someone got it and then changed their mind and ditched it on a shelf, or they got all the way to the register and then changed their mind. They guy said it had been there less than 10 minutes.
I was so excited, I didn't think to ask him for any info about when the shipment came in or how big it was. However, they must have gotten something. Sorry, that's not much info, but it's all I can provide.
Now if I can just find another controller |

TheWarden said:partialinsomniac said:tuxmaskone said:Hopefully I can get a couple tomorrow.... AND hopefully the eBay market doesn't bottom out with the new batch infused into the market. ...you do realize that the market is already beginning to bottom out, right? That some consoles are selling for +$30 retail, if that? Go over to HD and click a thread at random. Chances are, the margin for resale will be equal to or higher than the Wii.
Leave the console to those that actually want to play it -- it'll help those that are hunting for it and save you the trouble of selling something that's not worth your time.
Where exactly are these consoles selling for "+$30 retail, if that"? The lowest ones that eBay shows as having completed in the past 40 minutes or so were $370 - $375. Some are still going for upwards of $450. If you look at the completed listings, there are a lot of auctions that ended with zero bids. Those would be the ones that were below the expected margins of the reseller. The reason you don't see too many actually selling for +$30 is because resellers refuse to sell at that price point, so they end the auction and state that either the item is no longer available, that there was an error in the listing, etc.
There's more, but I'm too lazy. You can search for the rest if you want.

I got in line at 8:30am in the Santa Clarita, CA store and was number 68. They gave out 63 tickets. The worst part was I thought it was 1 per household/family but I litterally saw a Chinese family of 5 (mom dad and 3 sons) walk out with 5 Wiis. I asked the manager and he said they decided to do 1 per person in line instead of family because they can't tell if they are family or friends or relatives. The chinese family weren't the only ones i saw, i saw husbands/wives coming out with 2 (1 each). I was pretty upset. |
