While this thread is for all C0nnect3D products and rebates, it is now primarily discussing the C0nnect3D 1Gb ($30 rebate) and 2Gb SD cards ($50 rebate) sold by 8uy.com in late January and early February 2007.

C0nnect3D is now OUT OF BUSINESS. 8uy.com says they are aware of this now.

Call 8uy.com at 1-800-800-0800 or 949-389-2402 to speak with a CSR and/or write to them by clicking on the customer service link and request they step up to the plate and take responsibility to pay the C0nnect3D rebates or provide you with an RMA number so that you return your C0nnect3D products for a refund.

SUMMARY

7/8/13 - Looks like it's all over settlement reached, Buy.com will pay nothing, but agrees to change its business practices when advertising rebates.

10/26/10 - Appears as if the group will get "class action" because of an appeal that was won.

Buy.com advertised and sold Connect 3D products with a Buy.com after rebate price, or a "Buy.com Total Price $0.00." Rebate request forms sent through the USPS mail, were not paid. Buy.com refused to accept returns of the products even though they were not as Buy.com had advertised.

Lot of people's whose rebates were rejected had called parago and got the rebate approved over the phone, did any of those people get their rebate checks at all. I am in the same boat as OP. I received a letter saying that the rebate was invalid. Checked the online status and I am seeing the same message.

I did a Google search on Wintergreen Systems and found more complaints about unfulfilled rebates here and here

i'm in the same boat... some people reported that they were able to call and get the problem fixed. is this true?

shoot! I have a $50 rebate for a 2gb SD card mailed to some CA place, haven't heard anything back yet. Looks like a tough fight ahead.

Don't panic just yet - at least at the time being - if your Connect3D rebates were sent to Connect3D itself in San Jose, CA. The $30 rebate (on Connect3D 1GB SD card from Office Depot) processed by Parago is totally a different story.

Yes, I just saw the message for my $30 rebate for a 1gb SD card purchased at TechDepot/OfficeDepot....processed by Parago. It was valid and scheduled for final processing.

ddyourself said: shoot! I have a $50 rebate for a 2gb SD card mailed to some CA place, haven't heard anything back yet. Looks like a tough fight ahead.the one through Buy.com was mailed directly to Connect3D, not to parago. but yes, there *may* be a fight ahead of us.

My status "was" being scheduled for final processing after I called them a few weeks ago. Now it has switched over to the OP's msg. Has anybody received this rebate yet? Has anybody called the wintergreen and gotten any answers?

Should we be writing the Attorney Generals Office & the Better bBsiness Bureau in Indiana? Doesn't this consitute FRAUD? Did anyone get an email about this? I just checked the status of the rebate and saw the info below.

awestun said: this is NOT good news for ANY c0nnect3d rebates:

people that did the 0D parago rebate now have a status that says:

Please be advised: Parago, Inc. is a provider of rebate processing services for its clients. As a rebate processor, Parago works on behalf of Wintergreen Systems to receive mail, perform data entry services, receive customer service calls, print checks, and perform other services associated with its promotions. For the submission in question, Parago performed data entry on the submission, and forwarded the information to Wintergreen Systems for approval and funding. To date, Parago has not received such approval and funding from Wintergreen Systems. Until Wintergreen Systems forwards additional funding for the promotion in question to Parago, Parago will not be able to mail any additional consumers checks under the promotions. We apologize for any frustration this has caused, and will process the reward as soon as we are provided the required funding and approval by Wintergreen Systems. this worked for me
Person responsible for rebates is Kathy Plake at Wintergreen Systems. Her telephone number is 574.295.9054 Ext. 110 and her email address is "Kathyplake@wintergreensys.com". I got to her through a Andy Sommers who forwarded my complaint to her and his email address is "wsisales@wintergreensys.com".
Hope this helps anyone who uses it!!!!!!!

I sent an email to Kathy with a copy to Andy. The address for Andy bounced,
saying 'user unknown'. I'll let you know what I hear from her.

I just got this message on a different rebate ((7" Memorex DVD Player)) Link

I got the message too.

I actually have one $30 from rebateshq and the Buy.com rebate going to san hose. This is pretty sad.

I will probably file for BBB complains. Besides that, what else can be done?

Maybe just dispute charge on CC with Office Depot?

dealsnow, you wanna explain the negative rating? do you work for wintergreen systems or something? lol

anyone do their 2gb sd card rebate deal?...any news on that one?...can only email for rebate status and so far, nada.

jignesh said: dealsnow, you wanna explain the negative rating? do you work for wintergreen systems or something? lol

Hey thats all the dude can do....gave me neg rating on another thread for nothing. Must be 13 playing on daddys puter.

I e-mailed Wintergreen Systems (rebates@wintergreensys.com) and received this canned reply:

We have received your email. We will be working with RebatesHQ to verify your rebate status as they retained all rebate submissions and operated the status website. When we are able to verify your rebate status Wintergreen Systems will honor your rebate by processing a check within 3 weeks. Please be advised due to the number of requests we are receiving we will not be able to contact you unless there are any problems with your rebate.

Thank you.

Wintergreen Systems

Hope this offers at least a faint glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.

Let's hope so! When did you have to submit your forms by? The comment on my
submission said they were working with Pargo. Are Pargo & RebatesHQ the same
processing company?

We have received your email. Parago/RebatesHQ processed the rebates and operated the website
for customers to receive status for Wintergreen Systems. At this time we are also unable to
check the status of your rebate. We will try to respond to your email as quickly as we can
but be advised due to overwhelming requests there will be unavoidable delays. We are working
with Parago to remedy this issue and plan to honor all valid claims.

Thank you.

keep it up FW. keep emailing them, and that Kathy lady above. I say SPAM till they pay up!!!

any updates from anyone? let's keep this thread alive and not forget about connect3d/wintergreen systems rebates. i believe a lot of people are in the same boat (with not just the SD card rebates, but some LCD related rebates and others too).

You can now track your rebate status at www.rebate-zone.com/Connect3D

I received an email yesterday with 1 claim ID. When I go to the website it says "Submission Origin: Standard Submission". Thats all it says. I currently have 4 rebates outstanding with Connect3D (from Buy.com not Office Depot) and I have no idea which rebate the ID is referring to. Guess I will have to wait and see if other emails show up.

Here is the email I received.

Dear **** *******:

Thank you for your purchase of a Connect3D product. We have received
your Connect3D rebate and are processing your claim. Please allow 6-8 weeks
for processing. If you would like to check the status of your claim online, please refer
to www.rebate-zone.com/Connect3D. Your Claim ID is ********.
Again, thank you for your patronage.

Same for me. Shows nothing but its been a while.

Has anyone tried calling the phone no. of Connect3D in San Jose listed on the rebate form -- is Connect3D doing the fulfillment themselves? Outrageous behavior from the outside rebate fulfillment houses such as Wintegreen. I have two outstanding that were mailed to the San Jose address.

This is an excellent idea. Maybe someone in San Jose, can call their local number.

I second that!

I received an email yesterday from connect3d stating that my rebate was received and that it would be fulfilled in 6-8 weeks; unclear if this is from date of email (which would make it very late) or from the date of mailing. I also called connect3d and a real person answered. Said the rebates were being processed but not much more information.

This is good news. What number did you call & what department did you speak to? thanks

I called the phone no. on the bottom of the rebate form, 408-441-4632.

Thanks. We should all call them!

i got a card from wintergreen saying "missing UPC"

I'm 100% sure I sent the UPC. I have copies of course but not the original.

anyone else get this card?

This is terrible. I think their goal is to disallow all the rebates. They say no resubmissions either, right!

tulsastorm said:   Well that sucks! It appears Buy.con bought off the judge because this was a cut and dry case with precedent (CompUSA, TigerDirect). That pretty much guarantees Buy will be on my s**t list for now and forever. Now they have an even worse reputation for sharing their customer's credit card numbers with criminals. Here is hoping it won't be much longer before they go out of business and justice will be served.

After all this, I'm guessing that the judge or his law clerk conferenced the action and basically told plaintiff's counsel that we weren't going to get anything, and what can we do to settle this. If you send in "an objection", a letter probably has no value. It should be in the proper legal format, setting forth your legal basis and arguments for objecting. Also, setting forth that other companies voluntarily decided to provide the refund amount to customers is irrelevant. Unfortunately, the only thing I think we can do here is not buy from them. Personally, I have a credit from the Buy.com credit card for years I haven't used yet. For me, using the credit is the only thing I can really do.
