Most lenders seem to be allowing ~60-90 days to dispute the charge. Any more time than that seems to be up to the manager you speak to at the CC company - Tho ur idea is new and worth trying out. |

yazooo said:I guess you wouldnt file a claim with auto insurance because you dont want to raise rates for the rest of the folks. If I file an at-fault claim with my auto insurance company, my premium would increase. That's not the case with credit card disputes.
Grow up and stop presumming you are on higher ground especially at the expense of people who are out $250 bucks and got 1.5 months of phone service. If you opened a SR account in the past couple months, then you are within the credit card company's timeframe for filing a dispute, and you should do so - it will probably be upheld. Any longer than that, and AMEX should (deservedly) deny the dispute. |

I'm a sunrocket prepaid customer too (about 6 months into new contract, have been with them for 2.5), and while I'd like to get the money back, agree that the Credit card company doesn't have to refund me my money. It'd be great if they did, but I understand that I'm an unsecured creditor for Sunrocket and if they go under I'll just have to stand in line. If AMEX does a charge-back to SR, it wont get paid now. They were just processing a payment. It's part of the legal protection that you have 60 days to dispute a charge. After that it's between Sunrocket and you. I see no reason why AMEX/CC should eat the cost. It's quite simple and logical. I'd take the money if the CC gave me, but I don't think they have a responsibility to do so. |

It's hard to believe this has happened. Sunrocket was great for me... Here is a heads up guys, I checked out Vonage and they have a deal right now for SunRocket customers. They are giving 2 months free for a limited time. I am jumping on it. Good luck everyone. Hopefully we will get some of our money back. |

Hopefully we will get some of our money back. It's a pretty good deal IMO, and you can switch to the lower $14.99 plan if you are a light user after the 2nd month for a $9.99 charge. My adapter arrives tomorrow, hopefully it'll work great without a bunch of fiddling. |

Ok, I can't seem to get an answer in the other thread, so I'll ask here. Sunrocket collected the Universal Service fund charge 1 year ahead of time. So if they have given this money to the FCC? then do we not get a prorated amount back from the government? Any idea about this? |

Net2Phone has the best offer currently, 3 free months + 1 free month for each month remaining on your SunRocket contract, up to a total of 12 free months. Pretty sweet deal : up to 12 free months of $19.99 a month plan + taxes. BUT, if you want to BYOD to avoid equipment and shipping fees, you must have the InnoMedia Sunrocket Gizmo. Not Linksys or AC-... gizmos. |

N2P uses an ATA so that you can plug in your regular phone, just like SunRocket. |
