I just signed up for Vonics, that's another VOIP option for everyone. Vonics
My install package arrived in a couple days, I plugged everything in, and it's works flawlessly so far (had 60 minute phone call, 20 minute phone call, lots of short voicemail, etc. calls, sent a couple of faxes...) I haven't had any outages, quality issues, etc. Note that my underlying internet connection is FIOS, so that part is very solid. Still, I've been very surprised at have no issues. I don't work for them or have any connection, just stumbled upon them and gave them a try with 12 month + 3 month free package. Search HotDeals section for details. I posted one other time about this company when I initially signed up. |

Any recommendations for good VOIP providers, looks like time to switch. I already have 2 gizmos (1 unlocked and 2nd locked gizmo). I wonder if we can make international calls until our service gets disconnected? |

I'd rather go other more expensive places just because the way they did things like this. No business from me. It's not the way a good business should go. Probably they will be out of business pretty soon. |

I guess I'll be taking a slightly safer route with Comcast triple play. The way I figure it: I already pay $75 for TV, $5 for sports package, and $20 for Internet. That's $100 total. In August my promo ends (new customer) and it goes up to $148. I can either sign up for the preferred triple play, plus my $5 sports for $135 (actually cheaper than what it would be when my promo ends plus I get the phone service), or sign up for the premier package and get 8mbps Internet and two more pay channels for $159 (includes Sports package already). All in all it's not a huge loss in comparison I guess. Just an annoyance. It will be a greater annoyance if I lose my phone # and have to spend a day updating it with credit card companies, insurance, family, friends, etc... I haven't heard great things about Comcast voice either. I'm going to dispute the Sunrocket charge on my CC as a fraudulent charge. Hopefully Discover will cover me on it even if they can't recoup the funds from Sunrocket. |

I guess people will start loosing services one by one. Basically if their SIP networks go down your service will go down and not everyone is on the same SIP server. Shahhere |
