What's with RED for asking questions?
Got mine in black as was promised by Sturbucks personnel - it was on hold for me!
Good machine and for $99 coffee should taste even better!

Thank you OP!

Just picked up my Stainless unit with some free espresso roast. Used $13.40 in GC's. I don't think I'm going to sleep tonight after work.

EDIT: Oh yeah, the one lady asked how I knew about it. I told her I had an employee friend. She said after I reserved mine there were like 3 more calls that night, lol.

Thanks OP!

I picked one up in Summerville, SC this morning. They opened at 4:30AM, but I didn't get there until 5:30AM. They had at least one more in the box and two (?!?) display models. They lady that rang me up looked surpirsed. From lastnight's phone calls, it didn't seem that they had any on Rivers Ave or the International Blvd stores.

Picked up the display at the Miramar, FL store this morning. Stainless, $89 with free espresso pods. Thanks OP!

Thanks OP!!! Got the last stainless one in our store this morning for $99 plus a free pound of beans!

Thanks, OP. I picked up one this morning at 8 AM, during the morning rush. I held up the line for a while since their credit card machine wasn’t working properly. I offered to just come back later if they’d hold it for me, but she kept trying. Finally, 10 minutes later (and after a few customers leaving), she finally got it to work.

Awesome! Thanks again.

they said it was getting drastically reduced tommorrow but they couldn't give me an exact price that it was going to be

To confirm, yes it is $450. That is a steal, but a decent semi-auto for $99 is way more up my alley.

EDIT: Talking about the Delonghi Super-Automatic.

Ok, I had this machine since last night and I made some espresso yesterday and this morning. I am not an expert in cofee but I loved the taste!! However, I am not sure what I am doing wrong but I can not get milk to foam at all. I tried following directions in the manual to the "T" but still getting nothing. Milk just spins in the container with no foam at all. I suspect it is the "user error" rather then defective machine... I'll keep trying. Any tips from the experts?

Forgot to add: I have no VCRs in my house anymore (anyone still using those??) so I could not watch the tape. It would probably provide more clues on my milk problem... bummer.

Oh yea, did I mention I love the shots!!

Cheers.

When milk gets to about 100F put the steam nozzle in upper layer of milk.
If you don't have a thermometer - hold your milk cup to the point when it gets warm - your frosted milk should be around 160f - at about 140f it gets hard to hold your hand on the cup, take your hand of and give it about another minute, always use a metal (SS) cup for frosting and live some room (do not fill your cup to the top).
Hope you will do fine.

Thanks for the tip! Yea, I do not have a termometer yet, will need to get one. I also need to get a good SS container. Right now I am using a coctail shaker (embarassing, I know). I tried holding it to the point where it is too hot in my hand and got nothing. I guess the right tools and the right technique is a key as always.

Was the original price of the stainless the same as the graphite? Is there any difference other than color? Thanks

I was going to buy it for $199 and then I saw this post. Perfect timing.

Yesterday, I called the manager at the store on 80th Avenue in Merrillville, IN (Chicago area)and asked him about the "rumor". He hadn't heard about it but went back and checked to see if he could find some info. He did find that they were doing a "blowout" but couldn't find a price reference to the product sale for today. He was willing to hold it for me, however. On the way into work this morning, my hubby picked it up for me- $99- yippee! The saleslady said "If I would have known that, I would have gotten it!" It was the only one left sooo . . .

BIG thanks op!

Warmly,

beaglette

P.S. The one I scored was stainless steel.. yay!

You are welcome.
I have a thermometer and a SS cup with thermometer built in - trouble is, I don't use all this gadgets - relying solely to the feel of my hand - but, I guess, if thermometer will make you feel more confident (as it probably did in my case) - go get it.
Good luck!

Awesome, they refunded me $99 since I paid $199 for this 8 days ago (thanks for the idea dp004i). They didn't give me any grief at all. Nice service. I was so tempted to purchase another one for a Christmas gift for my parents, but I think they'd go nuts with all the priming and cleanup involved.

Now to throw my $99 refund into a good grinder.

Found one in a Santa Barbara location - thanks OP!

How do you get the free pound of bean? Just by asking for when you bought the machine?

Thanks.
