AT&T cripples Blackberry 8820 GPS functionality

If you want GPS, you're going to have to pay an $10 a month to the wonderful folks at TeleNav because AT&T is going to block all other 3rd party software.
Pretty sure they won't exactly be advertising that. It's not like they ever advertised how their other phones were crippled in one way or anther to force you to buy a monthly service.

Cue all the apologists who like to post how ETF fees are necessary because the carriers "subsidize" the phones"

Welcome to my world. Verizon has been crippling their phones for as long as they've been in business. If it doesn't lead to a revenue stream for them, you can't have it...


Try T-Mobile I guess.
