Do you know if the sharp is an aquos or not? I'm really tempted to buy this, and even working on shift trading so I'm not working when the sale starts. Any idea how many sharps they'll have in stock?(General idea, I know you can't give an exact number)or an idea of what time I should arrive? Thanks for answering the questions, it's much appreciated. -Mitch. |

jmoney48, I've got a raincheck for the LG 42" LCD (42LB5D) from the $1099 sale. If I come in during the VIP sale, will the discounts stack on top of the raincheck price? If I have my math right, it would be: $1099 - 5% - $150 Sears card instant savings (40" - 50") + tax - possible 10% Sears card MIR I'm probably dreaming, but I'll probably go to the store and try it anyways. |

jmoney48 said:seems like this is Sears way of getting rid of old models? you will probably have to order it since we dont have the old models at the store anymore. Couldn't they just claim ignorance since the BF ad is not officially out yet? Seems strange that they'd offer something that hasn't been in stock in awhile. |

I just got a copy of the Friends and Family ad from my local Sears. The flyer is very clear that you may not combine offers. I do not believe the current instant rebate will combine with the 10% MIR although I really wish it would. Also, there is no sign of the Sharp 46 inch TV in the ad. Here are the prices based on the actual ad. I am not sure how to upload a file here. I started a similar thread on SD that has the flyer. Model Ad Price Instant VIP Disc. 10% MIR Total LG 37 LCD $1,099.99 $200.00 N/A $90.00 $809.99 Sony 32" LCD $1,099.99 $100.00 $50.00 $95.00 $854.99 Samsung 40" LCD $1,499.00 $300.00 $59.95 $113.91 $1,025.15 Toshiba 42" LCD $1,599.99 $350.00 $62.50 $118.75 $1,068.74 LG 42 Plasma $1,099.99 $200.00 N/A $90.00 $809.99 Samsung 46" LCD $2,499.99 $500.00 $100.00 $190.00 $1,709.99 Proscan 42 LCD $899.99 N/A N/A $90.00 $809.99 Samsung 61 DLP $2,599.99 $600.00 $100.00 $190.00 $1,709.99 Sony 46" LCD $1,999.99 $500.00 $75.00 $142.50 $1,282.49 Panasonic 26" LCD$749.99 $100.00 N/A $65.00 $584.99 |

jmoney48 said:michaelkenyon: you cant trust the online locator thingy. maybe you should call each store. if the manager is smart, then they will stock up on the tv's which are on sale, the other day our manager asked us (the sales force) what tv's to order, we told her all the stock numbers for the high comission tvs cuz we're always sold out. i told her to order the ones which will be on sale for friends and fam night, but i dont think she knew which ones those were. you will probably have to order whatever tv you want to buy, unless you are lucky and your Sears has it in stock. take the sharp 46 for example, its an old model and probably no Sears has them in stock (unless the distribution center ships them out to the stores the friday before nov 11th). no, the football promotion is for all hdtv's. btw, friends and family night is nov eleventh (11th) not 17th.Gotcha. Thanks very much |

I'm wanting to get the 50", 720p Panasonic TH50PX75U. Last week Sears had it for $1499 - the $250 football discount. Any chance I'll be able to do better on Nov 11? I hope that 10% MIR turns out to be stackable with the $250 and the 5% VIP discount! |

But then this contradicts the first post in this thread. I hope it is still included in this next Sunday! |

At the Sears' site, I'm trying to check for availability, but it's showing "In store in 3-5 days." Does this mean the store doesn't have them in stock? Will I have to order online for pickup before? |

FWIW, the one in my nearest store undoubtedly was maladjusted, even tho the salesdork said it was fine. Regardless, the picture was awful with a useable viewing field of maybe 45 degrees. I may go look at other stores to see how theirs are. |

Here is a printable coupon for a free universal remote with the purchase of any HDTV AND a qualifying audio system or high definition DVD player at Sears. It may be useful to some here looking at these HDTV deals. |

The 42" Philips is exluded? ..or just not worth mentioning? I was looking at the ambient light one and has pretty good reviews, so wondering if it would be in the group of "door-busters." |

So it sounds like we just need to figure out if all of these promotions will stack or not. From what rastascott says, it doesn't look like they will. Mike |

So if you don't use a Sears card the only discount you get is 5%, is that correct? TIA |

This could be a great deal if indeed Sears put these TV's on sale AND subtract the instant football savings. Keeping my fingers crossed. I really need a TV and I've been following FW for a few weeks now waiting to pounce on the right deal. I've had a few in store rejections including at Sears. The manager over at Torrance CA Sears will not let them PM and subtract the instant football savings. HT |

Here is what exactly what it says in the Sears Friend and Family flyer. "You’ll find some of our most incredible prices and offers usually only available in the days after Thanksgiving." This could be interpreted to mean that there will be some increadable deals that would usually only be available the two days after thanksgiving. But it doesn't say that it will be the same deals that will be offered on the days after thanksgiving 2007. This could mean that there will be deals comparable to the after thanksgiving deals. Earlier in this thread it was already pointed out that several TV's in the BF ad are currently out of stock and some are dicontinued so re-stocking seems unlikely. The Sears BF ads already say that stock is limited. If they promote the same items beforhand for F&F on 11/11, Wouldn't that make the BF stock even more thin? Anyway, guess the best thing is get their early and check out whats in stock on the floor and start talkin to the salesman. Cool thread OP HT |
