I purchased a twin sized electric blanket about 8 years ago at Odd Lots (now Big Lots) for $19.95, and used it up until last year. It had some issues, so we threw it away.
This year, I'd like to get a new one, but we now have a King size bed, and my wife informed me that the electric blanket at Meijer was $75!
I had no idea - I figured it might be $30 to $40.
I'd like to use it because often we lay on the bed to read, and it would be cheaper to heat the bed for sleeping than to keep the whole room warmer, which is what we currently do.
Can anyone recommend a place where we could get either a Queen or King sized electric blanket for less than $75? That just seems a bit too pricey.
Last year on black friday I picked up a Biddeford brand blanket at BigLots for $39 full size. The selling point on it for me was a 5 year warranty. Sunbeam had only offered a one year. I had previously bought a sunbeam one @ WalMart and it died in 4 months.
Overstock has a bunch of offers. Electric Blanket any avaiable size is $79.99 (2 King options available) Then there is $1 shipping, 4% FW Cash Back by going to Overstock thru FW stores section.
Also there is $20 gift card with $99 Bill Me Later purchase Just pad order to get to $99. You are kind of getting $20 of stuff for free since the going rate on a king electric blanket is around $74+. Use gift card on a future hot deal.
Price: $79.99

As noted by some FWers, they got clearance electric blankets at WalMart in the spring at good savings.
Basically at the current time the going rate is around $75 for a king size.
Even at stores with 40-50% off sales, like JC Penney, their list is around $179+, and then even with extra coupons, the deals are still close to or over $75.
