this might end up not a good deal afterall. It runs on linux so where's the deal?

thanks for moving from hot topics mr. moderator man who's in charge. You work so fast.

EDIT:

This PC does NOT contain an ITX motherboard Its micro ATX.

Doesn't sound like a good deal to me. Spend a little more if you need something now, or wait for a good deal for the same price.

Indeed it just isn't the deal it appears to be. When WallyWorld introduced the $199 Linux computer, I bought one and felt it was a decent deal at the time. But PC prices have plummeted since. Now $199 specials running Windows are not uncommon. I've seen a number of deals on eMachines desktops at that price due to Acer buying out eMachines/Gateway.

IMHO, they need to drop the WallyWorld special it to $99.

If thats the case, they really missed the chance to make a really sweet tiny computer that would be the EEE PC like desktop machine. Drop the hard drive, optical drive and put 4gb of flash instead, and suddenly you have a quick and very very small machine that would suite most users. Then you could pimp special usb hard drives for add on storage and such too for those that actually want to use it for storage instead of just basic word processing/email/internet

UPDATE.

The Walmet PC does NOT use a mini-itx board. Its uses a regular micro ATX boar which is easy twice the size of ITX.

This PC is not a good deal for ANYONE.

I wouldn't trust this computer I've had a few family members get these Everex computers thinking they are hot deals but in the end the hardware stops working. These things are just as bad as e-machines which nobody wants. I would stay away if I were you.

Wonder where the rumor came from that it had an ITX board? Hrmm, it would have been interesting if true, but doesn't make sense why they would when they tend to cost quite a bit more.

WalMart knows the biggest the case; the more powerful the pc.
