Olevia 37" 1080i Widescreen LCD HDTV - $549.00 Let's have some pricing perspective here, shall we? I picked up this panel about 4-5 months ago for $688.00 at Target, the best deal at the time and probably the best ANYWHERE since then. The closest they've ever come to that price since then is $699.00 (for one week only) and much more commonly, it's been in the $750 to $799.00 range. Current best deal on pricegrabber is $750.00, delivered. Regardless of the fact that it is 720p (or 1080i, depending upon how you choose to interpret this resolution w/ respect to a progressive display such as this one), THIS IS A GOOD DEAL! $140 less than Targets best ever sale price and $150 cheaper than any price you can find for this model currently. Now, if you have your little heart set on a 1080p panel in this size, then no amount of price slashing would satisfy you here. Fine. But that doesn't make this deal lukewarm and worthy of dismissing. |

Can we buy this now and price match later, to the Black Friday sale price? |

This is the first year in 5 years where they didn't put on sale any of the Simpsons DVD sets. *sigh* Anyone else miss this? |

I actually saw this set for $576 on sale at Fry's about 4 or 5 months ago. I'm not saying it's a horrible deal (it's pretty good) but it's really disappointing for me. I thought this set could go for as low as $499 (given what I saw)... oh well, then again, it's Target. Do they really focus their sales on TVs?... |

Are you sure it wasn't the 37" version with either the speakers on the sides (instead of the bottom), and/or the silver colored version instead of black? Either of those two I have seen at Fry's and for cheaper yes, but never the bottom speaker black version. I've never seriously considered those other versions I've seen at Fry's despite their sometimes better/cheaper pricing because I won't do silver and side speakers take up too much real estate. For the black w/ bottom speaker, the Target price is far and away the best I've ever seen. |

Might go here after I hit the real sales. The Play-Doh and LeapFrog thing look interesting. (I have a birthday and Christmas coming up for a 2 year old within a month of each other.) Nothing really good besides that. last year they had all seasons of 24 that cheap and the other movies will probably be somewhere else with better deals. |

Like I said before I have a feeling this BF is gonna suck! Probably most will just sit in line at Sears for that Sharp LCD Unless BB has something waiting in the cold for I may just sleep in. |

Had been holding out on on seasons 9 (came out right after last BF IIRC) and 10, hoping for deal(s) on BF Still have my fingers crossed for an unadvertised special of some sort (I think they had some DVD sets last year that weren't in the ad). At least there's Family Guy... |

I have never gone to a black friday sale before. Does Target work like most other stores where I have to get there early in the morning, or do these deals usually last till, say, noon? I guess I'm specifically talking about the Olevia 37". If I did need to get there early, what time should I show up? I'm in San Antonio, TX if that helps. Thanks! |

I've been looking for a small cheap HDTV to replace a 27" CRT that JUST squeezes under a projector screen. What do I need to consider when comparing the 22" monitor for $167 vs the 19" HDTV for $199? |

At least there's Family Guy... I'll certainly post if I find out anything. I, too, held out on Seasons 9 & 10, figuring that they would offer it (or Costco would have a buy-two-get-'m-cheap deal). There is no way I'd pay full price for one of these--I haven't even finished watching previous seasons! |

MicroCenter had a 37" Olevia LCD HDTV for $499 AR on black friday LAST YEAR! I got the 42" for $799 last year...plus there was an extra $100 off if you signed up for their credit card. Archived |

I own an Olevia LT30HV. Screen went black after 18 months. Just do a quick google search and you'll see lots of other reports regarding this problem with this manufacturer. So I am now in the market for a new tv, but will pass on this one, regardless of the low price. |

Someone told me that with Target's 'price protection' policy, you don't have to wait until BF to get these deals. You can just buy the item now, then on BF, take your receipt in and get a refund for the price difference (since it went on sale within 30 days). I think he said you have to actually go in on BF to due this, but standing in Customer Service line beats standing in the checkouts at 6am. Anyone know if this is actually true? |
